"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

"May I join him? As he said, this matter is important, and I'm this guys partner, strictly in the sense of work. We're working together on these murders."

Aegnor waited until the guards replied, standing to attention, and gives a small nod.

The guards look at each other and shrug.  "Just try to give him back mostly intact.  You're not one of those mind melters are you?  They're usually female... I'm told of course."

Aegnor gives a small grin, despite everything.

"Not... Exactly, but I do have my methods"

((Oh right, I'll just assume you both head inside then >.<))

As you head inside you hear the guard yell out behind you, "He's on the second floor, door to your right."  You state your thanks and head up to the second floor.  You look over through the bars on the door and into the room on the right.  It looks like a whirlwind of destruction visited the room.  The cot is completely destroyed, anything that could be ripped up or pried of has been.  Most everything dangerous has been taken away now and the only bits left are cloth and leather tatters everywhere.  You see a bowl where some food and water are sitting stewing together.  You briefly wonder why until you see the man.  Wild red hear, dark, glowing red eyes, and wrapped in some kind of jacket that keeps his arms pinned to his front and back.  You're not exactly sympathetic towards his situation since it looks like he caused most of the destruction in there.

Kael glanced around and seeing that the coast was clear, or at least as best as it could be, he quickly drew Aegnor aside and away from the cells, motioning him to be silent. Once they were alone as best they could, he whispered quietly to him.

"Listen, I think we're in trouble. I don't think our draconian friend is not who she may seem to be, and given that we are currently in a place of wild magic, I fear the worst. She's too afraid, paranoid about the job, when she used to be more pragmatic. We need to do something to make sure it's her, but without starting a fight first, incase she's something more dangerous than we are that's in disguise. Have you got any ideas?"

Aegnor stops for a moment, wondering if the pieces came together..
"I'm not so sure about this, but okay. I trust you." Thinking silently for a moment, Aegnor looks up, and thinks of something. "We will have to ask this fleur a couple of questions that she could not know, or something.."

"Indeed, that would be the ideal way to do it. The problem lies in what questions we ask her..."

Kael glances over his shoulder to the cells then looks back to Aegnor.

"Still, we'll have to focus on the task at hand. Ya can find that diary so we can have a look at it while I go talk to the prisoner and see if he knows anything. Who knows, he may have seen your Maria somewhere..."

Turning towards the cell with the prisoner inside it, he walks up to the window in the door and looks inside.

"Hello. I'd like like to talk to ya for a while, seeing how you've got nothing else to do for the moment. What's your name?"

Search for any tracks or traces of any creature that resembles what Mordekhai pointed out - those mutants.

Enchant dog whistle to be louder in that certain pitch range!

"I'm pretty lost...we're going to look for Maria...then we're going to look for a man's diary to look for Maria...then we're going to break into a prison and look for that diary...

Ugh. This is what always confused me about humans...too much complexity when we could try asking everyone about a female pirate."

"Oh back off already you filthy pig... oh, a Troll, trying a new tactic I suppose.  Yes, yes.  I don't suppose you'd mind loosening my bindings, so we could talk this over... face-to-face, hmmmm?" the man says.

Kael smiles.

"You would have to convince me that you wouldn't try to attack me the first chance you get, and given the current state of your cell, you would have to try pretty hard. What's your name?"

'Heh, you can hardly blame me, can you?  Been locked up here for months, no prospect of leaving until this magic is all cleared up.  If I'm lucky I'll still only have two eyes by then.  Name's Denholm, wish it was under better circumstances. he says, getting up onto his feet and bowing slightly before dropping back down and sitting, his legs crossed.  "I doubt you came all the way here for the only half decent conversation in this laughably backwards town though.  What do you want so I can get a good laugh for the day, and then tell you that I have no idea what you're talking about."  You're uncertain as to if he intends to behave this way the whole time or not, but he certainly has a way of... grating on the nerves.  Hopefully he's just acting this way because of past inquiries and not a genuine interest in being unhelpful.

Meanwhile, Aegnor starts to explore the tower, looking for where the prisoners diary may be.

"No, I can't blame ya for being fed up with being stuck in such a small room for months now. I'd be climbing up the walls too by now.

Anyway, I'd like to know a bit more about you. What did ya do to get in here, or have thought to have done by whoever put you here?"
