OBLIGATORY.
You bastard. I just *now* managed to climb out of that pit.

Back on topic, I think I like the ones that are just weird the best. I'm usually not impressed by horror stuff.

I really like some of the "thought experiment" ones. Like SCP-914, SCP-055, SCP-447 and SCP-294.

Harmless objects on their own (well, we don't really know about 055), they're much more about "What would this do if combined with X?" which makes them as awesome as the people who add edits (and thankfully even the lame edits are made fun by snarky commentary by other SCP staff.)

Well, usually it's more like "What happens if we put it inside 914/fed it to 682/covered it in 447-2?"

I like the SCPs that break rules well. If you're on the wiki for long enough then you'll start to notice a lot of common mistakes and cliches, and I like the SCPs that take a cliche and turn it on its head.

SCP-1875 is still definitely my favorite right now for this reason. Typically SCPs are supposed to be "above" jump scares since they're pretty much universally recognized as the lowest form of horror. But it does it so well that I don't even care.

Or SCP-579. A lot of times authors will just randomly expunge things since they think it makes it scarier. But it has to be done well, and you can't just expunge so much of your article that the reader doesn't know what they're reading about... unless you're the author of 579.

I dunno....I'm not feeling that one. I like how it ties into an existing SCP to give you a vague sense of what might be going on, but it's just *too* vague.

I like how strict the containment procedures are, how dangerous it is, and how absolutely horrible the Foundation is at actually doing anything with it. It shows tons of desperation on their part without any real context.

I have an annoying - but smart, and science obsessed - younger brother who kept me annoyed one night with variations on goodnight (culminating in that bedbug phrase) until I managed to get him to leave so I could sleep. For some reason, it has lived on in my memory as one of the most annoying things he's ever said to me. Apparently, since that sentence has been echoed on the SCP's TVTropes page, I've inadvertently succeeding in immortalizing it.

Really? I guess nobody says that rhyme to their kids anymore. The original is:

"Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite!"

Not sure about the healthy dermis bit.

The point is that it isn't funny but is trying to be. It is so not funny that the bad joke tomatoes proceeded to [DATA EXPUNGED] destroying the test chamber.

Has anyone noticed this line from The Things Dr Bright Is Not Allowed To Do At The Foundation?
127.3) Dr. Bright is not allowed to use SCP-786 to simulate "Dwarf Fortress".
