Goings on Log:
One of King Grek's many sons led the assault on Mount Diamond. He and five armies from across the Grekian Empire were equipped only with bows and unicorns (apparently Mithril was more precious than their lives) as they rode across the immense field of rock until they were at the base of the Golemn's lair. They also left behind a small troop of elves to defend their borders against any aggressive fauna native to the island. The huge legion of soldiers shook the ground as they marched up the mountain, and a few them nervously claimed that the mountain seemed to be shaking back, as if it were angry at them for stomping on it. Grek's son (he's not the king by the way; just one of his sons) was the first to reach the peak. As soon as he saw it, he sprinted forward: a string woven from golden thread had the blackest stone in the Universe hanging from it. It seemed to darken everything around it slightly, and you couldn't even really see it, just a black spot where something should be. He had tears rolling down his eyes as he reached out for it. Suddenly, a diamond hand burst straight out from the ground beneath the elf and it pulled him down the crevice it made. The elf's screams were put to an abrupt stop as a sickening crunching sound was heard. The other elves, once a bit nervous, were now scared shitless. They all drew their bows and aimed them at the crevice, when they felt a massive thud from behind them which shook the whole mountain.
Corainia was a nation of hard-working farmers and architects, working hard and building large stone castles that have never been used in war. There peaceful way of life, however, was challenged by the all-powerful elven empire of Grek. The peasant-king Corai, who worked hard along with his people and never took advantage of his power, heard rumors that the elves were hoarding magical artifacts of unimaginable power. He knew that if the elves were to succeed in their mission, the Coranian way of life would be lost and his people would become either slaves to the elves or would be completely destroyed. His scouts had located one such artifact during one of their sailing expeditions to the northwest. Corai sent two ships to the island: one full of the nation's finest masons and architects, the other filled with a force of farmers to sustain the outpost, both full of as much stone as could be carried without the boats sinking. On arrival at the island, the construction workers constructed a wall and several castles around the entire coast, while the farmers began hauling their livestock and planting seeds on the island. One of these farmers was Corai himself, upholding his title as peasant-king, friend of the people. One of Corainia's navigators burst into Corai's royal wooden shack in the middle of the night and frantically told him the elves were coming. The masons had to halt work on the walls due to a huge mass of elves which had arrived by sea and had claimed Corainian territory as their own. Corai cried as he thought of the future of his people if that army were to reach the peak of the mountain. Suddenly, instilled with rage and purpose, he grabbed a spade from the corner of his shack and put on his bronze crown. He rallied all of the best hunters, builders, and farmers on the island to arm themselves with farming equipment and whatever else they could possibly use as a weapon. The human army lacked equipment, training, and experience, but every fiber of their beings were determined to spill elf blood. The army arrived at the elvish camp on one of the mountain's smaller mountains and were about to charge into it, when they noticed that only 1/6 of the army remained there. They saw on the mountain the legion riding towards the peak on unicorns and Corai felt a strong sense of defeat; the elves would surely claim the artifact. Then, from far above they heard a loud thundering sound, but the night skies were clear. They heard distant cries of the elves as the thundering continued and the humans spotted the huge diamond golemn thrashing the elves apart. A grin grew on Corai's face as he led a charge straight into the elf camp, killing and burning all in sight.
The party of five elves was ambushed by the Black Unicorn and three were killed. Once the beast lost it's element of surprise however, the remaining two soldiers killed it easily with their powerful weapons and mounts.
The dwarves looked out the windows of their mountainhomes and scowled at the elven empire around them. They cursed the name Grek for depriving them of their most beloved pass-time (besides drinking of course) of mining. They also cursed their king for forbidding the mining of the legendary Mithril ore, when doing so was very possible.
