Turn 7
Late Afternoon

You offer fireberries to the Wolfhopper - but it
springs away as soon as you edge toward it. Oh well.

You tie the ends of the grass together with more grass, forming a loop.
You attempt to wear it as a belt, but it being the width and more of your
hip to get past your pelvic bone, it falls away loosely.

What do you do?

Have a drink from the spring, eat some berries.

Gather twigs for a lean-to.

lets hold off on those berries for now, Its not like you starve right away after you grow hungry. getting hydrated is a good idea though.

lets see if few berries we did ate make us ill or not.

Also lets contemplate if we could set up some deadfall traps, that sounded like a pretty good idea.

Wear belt as a necklass thing.
Look for new plant life after that.

...Why do we need a grass necklace.

For the deadfall trap, we could try to either a) use a rope made of some kind of weaved grass to trigger the trap from afar (although with a rope we'd probably be able to make a snare) b) find a long branch with a notched end to push the stick out from under the rock. Both these would require hiding in a bush until an animal approaches.

Oh and drink some water to fill your belly.

Sharpen the basalt rock with the weighty rock until it can't be sharpened anymore. Then find a long straight stick and tie the sharp point to the top of it with longland grass.

I don't think grass would be strong enough to hold a spear together, but we could just sharpen a stick and fire harden it for a quick weapon, assuming we can eventually make a fire.

Turn 8
Midnight

You double-braid the grass blades together, and find they're surprisingly strong.
From the two bundles of grass, you've been able to make two feet of weak rope.

You lazily head over to the stream and parse your thirst, then swallow the rest
of your fireberries. Afterwards, you look around for some twigs branches
with a plan hatched for building a shelter.
With some effort, you twist and break branches off from nearby trees,
using the attached boughs to make the cover over the frame
that the branches offered.

You are torn between making either a snare or a deadfall trap. As a result
from the confusion, you drop your would-be belt over your head, and wear
it as an amazing necklace, the thing droops below your chest.

You check your surroundings for any other sorts of plant life and find a number
of odd-looking trees, bushes, flowers, weeds and other such things.
("Look for new plant life" is a little vague - I'd wind up having to come up with
30+ plants, most of which would be ignored, as a result from this sort of action.)

With basalt rock in hand, you strike it on your smoother rock in an attempt to
create a flame on some newly gathered Longland Grass.
Amazingly (honestly, really) it catches fire.

You consider fishing, but the sun has nearly set, and
it's getting too dark to see into the waters.

You sharpen the basalt rock with your heavier rock, then after a few failed attempts,
tie it to a branch by criss-crossing Longland grass over the tapering sides and a
gnarl at the end of the branch.

What do you do?

I still think eating those berries was a horrible idea.

lets gather some branches/tinder to keep our fire going trough the night.

if we have time, lets be safe and put some rocks around it just incase.

after that, try to get some sleep and hope we dont freeze to death.
