Hm. I didn't find any forgotten beasts when I went in, but then again, I didn't explore the caverns very thoroughly. Thing is, though, I found a few clowns (one of which I defeated by luring it out into the snow and then pelting it with bolts until it fell over and the other of which killed me). I think the clowns appear randomly, meaning that until the gateway to the circus is closed (which can't be done in Adventure mode without Rumrusher-level haxxing skills) you can expect a few of them even when you reclaim.

As long as the pterodon is dead and most of the clowns have been quelled, we can deal with the stragglers.

Gave it a couple tries today, but have died twice in the most unsatisfying ways. Being slowly torn apart by a pack of giant dingos because I dodged off a hill and shattered a leg or two is a really sad way to go when you're still celebrating your last victory over a pack of Vile Brutes.
I'll continue tomorrow. If anyone knows which civ is closest to Goodwhip, let me know. Feel like I could be getting a bit closer to start.

It seems that the evil which claimed Goodwhip was more powerful than we had initially estimated.

I the event that none of our intrepid adventurers return successfully, it will become necessary to set out with no advance preparation of the site... The King of the Undermountain will not brook a long delay.

I will reclaim this fortress During the day on Saturday, Aug. 18 whether or not this has been accomplished!

Have pity on my dwarves, brave adventurers, and spare them as much hardship as you can in these dark times by clearing the way for them!

My adventurer that killed the two forgotten beasts and several demons is still alive and in perfect condition, however the embark has AWFUL fps due to a bug. I could post the save, if you want.

What bug is it that causes the FPS loss?

Relatedly, do we have any kind of workarounds?

Underground cave creatures and objects multiplying/duplicating. From what I know, the bug is caused when you sleep/wait in a specific place for whatever amount of time. The longer you waited or slept, the more of them there are. Not sure if there would be any way to fix it, but it's nigh unplayable. It's literally 3 fps. My poor adventurer is stranded there, since he can't even move. An embark would likely face the same issue.
