yeah, like I said-- masterwork armour gets a 1.2x deflection bonus, artifacts a 1.3x or something like that.

So it's a pretty meh armour piece-- but hey, you have a legendary armour crafter from a novice smith farmer. Might make a nice undershirt for your militia captain underneath a decent bronze breastplate. Better than getting an artifact brass breastplate anyway, since you can stack it. Pretty sure that deflection mod might tip the scales in small fight.

Also it's funny, but I've never had a possessed mood yet, only ever had fey moods. Can't wait until someone goes and butchers my mayor.

hey what's it worth by the way? any decorations? ^^

Ah, it wasn't worth that much, only 54600 dorfbucks. Here's the description:

Tholtigonshen, "The Barricaded Chant", a brass mail shirt

This is a brass mail shirt. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is studded with brass, decorated with cave spider silk and encircled with bands of round cassiterite cabochons. This object menaces with spikes of dog leather, sphalerite, sheep wool, and alpaca leather.
On the item is an image of the Tower Exposed the grizzly bear leather-bound book in rubicelle.

I don't have any sources of either iron or flux at the moment, so this is a pretty good stopgap piece I think. And for the record, I just had a goblin ambush that was crushed by a legendary hammerdwarf wearing the thing. He didn't take a scratch.

There was something else I was going to say but I forgot it. Maybe later. ~.~

Edit: Oh yeah, The image on it-- Might wanna check in Legends, see what the hell it is. Bet you ten dorfbucks it's a necromantic book.

Well it's labelled from a tower, so it's most likly a nec book--
Either that or written by some bloody scholar werebeast that took over some stupid human town.

Seriously, I've checked legends and there's always a human town or three that ends up with electing some kind of freaky beast as a king or mayor or something-- and they fill the artifacts list with bloody books and UNTITLED books.
Last one I saw was some weird ratbeast morphed into a straggly-haired human called Ostu that fooled some human town called Khalazsomething into getting some elected position-- First book he writes?
'first Khalazsomething-- then the world!!'

Second?
'Can Ostu save the world?'
Yeah, a rat bent on World domination.

And he writes them all under a pen-name called Enid. The rest of the books seem to be tricking people into thinking that Enid is a human and that Ostu is merely a religion/God that doesn't exist.

Seriously Toady, pure bloody genius.

The "Freaky beast" is a escaped clown. There get out, then trick bastards into thinking their actually a god. They can lead sieges and meet diplomats, and pretty much terrify newer players by making them think that a god is coming to kill them.

Wait, are you kidding me? This sounds too amazing and complex, EVEN for DF. Screenshots, or is it a dead world?

Yep... they never make it out of stuff that'd be better than what you've got already.  Still waiting on my Platinum Hammers... or now that Slade mining's been perfected, SLADE hammers =p

Brass is about equal to iron and bronze. These three metals actually form a somewhat interesting triangle. In a one on one fight, a dwarf fully equipped in iron defeats a dwarf fully equipped in brass almost 100% of the times, brass defeats bronze about 60-70% of the time, while iron and bronze are about 50-50.

What's the discussion about? Give it to your best soldier as a reward, it is an artifact! In fact, it might be worse them masterwork steel, but I just feel like giving artifacts to my best soldeirs. I once had artifact wooden spear, it did not own really, but was good enough. For the dwarf it is the matter of prestige!
