How about Toady submit it...you know...when it's finished?
You mean when he's dead?
You mean when he achieves singularity Godhood?
fix'd.

Well most people still dont understand a few interesting facts.

1) DF has already been submitted to IGF in the past, and got honorable mentioned when the top ten were mentioned... soo ya.

2) DF and Toady was put into the NYTs

3) DF + Museum.

I decided to play DF on my own accord, because im the kind of person that likes this game, and most people arnt like me
i bet ur sooper speshul

I can't stand people going like "most ppl arnt lik me" or whatever. There's no way to make it sound good.

So what should a person who genuinely is mismatched with most others say, to avoid your ire?

I mean, I'm just an average Joe, you know.  Like any other man, after being hit by a motor vehicle I laugh while the driver cries and the witness screams.  I often go 6-36 months between instances of speaking with the people most precious to me, because I want my space and solitude more than I want their company and sympathy, as do we all.  I don't watch TV anymore (really, who does?) but I know how to turn filthy mud or raw ocean into potable water with little more than sunlight, and can make fire with a boot lace and a couple of sticks, like I'm sure you all chose to teach yourselves just in case.  I'm more offended by a lie than a punch, more afraid of Heaven than oblivion, I'm an atheist who reads the Bible and a fat guy who reads nutrition labels carefully.  When I play a competitive multiplayer game, I seek out and stick with opponents who completely outclass me, because I'd rather study greater players than win against lesser players; I'll stick around for 100 losses in a row if I can.  All pretty typical, really.

I think that's a little closer to autism than I'm comfortable with.

What.

Maybe the autistic individuals I've known have been savants, I confess to not understanding the mechanism.  But that sounds a lot like the way a couple of them would phrase things (though none would actually carry around such a document).  Worthless for small talk but go-to guys for their subjects of interest, if you could wade through the strangely clinical vocabulary.

Either way the thread is being kept topped, which means ToadyOne will have a better chance of seeing it :O

I never heard of IGF until now, I'm so not mainstream. :(

I'm still stuck with the almighty question of what for? What exactly is Toady going to benefit from winning IGF's competition or any other game competition? He already has a loyal fan base who love the game, more money coming in per month than I get (assuming it's tax free), and his life's project is coming along quite nicely. Essentially, why would he want more people?

He even went as far as to kick the metaphorical ass of Bethesda. I abandoned playing Skyrim for DF. I would rather watch a blue smiley face with a beard do battle with a capital D than fight an artistically glorified dragon with a fully articulated tail. No other game has that power.

I would be interested in seeing how it unfolds if he does enter though, considering I missed the last entry.

Why would the donations be tax free?

Don't feel bad, none of us here at Bay12 are, and for that I am more grateful then you know.

Why would the donations be tax free?

You would have to ask the IRS that one. It really depends on if the income is viewed as charity or something else, and even then the system is so iffy I've given up all hope on understanding it. One year I had to ask for a pay cut so I could make more money and my head still hurts every time I try to think about it logically.

What? It only killed the community and thus transforming a game into one huge PVP map and thus eliminating much of what was enjoyable about the game.

Ohh wait... nevermind.

Who taxes gifts? The US doesn't.
