Why not use grenades instead of bullets? We could probably make megabucks by filming two hated people (the guys who invented ACTA?) playing it and posting it on YouTube. Sponsorship money would skyrocket.

we would bring laptops , because big computers are too big .
Apollo 13 had a big computer, and that was when computers were huge and spacecraft were not meant to be inhabited by already-on-the-edge people for months. We could afford to take a few big DF computers.

If we are bringing along games, how about DF(obviously), Skyrim, Left 4 Dead 2 (ETERNAL GIBFEST), Portal 2, we can download Cataclysm RL, Cortex Command, Minecraft, Terraria, and other awesome games that come out between now and then?
Also Spore, Civilization, Gnomoria, probably virtual versions of some board games...

Are there any games about being on a spacestation and a murderer goes around stealthily and brutally killing people?
Download that and make it mandatory.
...Space Station 13, depending on mode.

It's not like we're going to the middle of nowhere people. We'll have broadband internet connection. Sure, the ping might be quite high(Several minute delay), but we can use the internet.
Ping time could be over an hour once we reach Mars. And that's assuming that we still get reception out there...

The sad thing is, that would probably work. Even if we got politicians, or people dressed up as well-known politicians, to do so.

And some guys managed to stuff 700TB worth of data in ONE GRAM of dna. We could take ALL games!
And all porn, too.

I vote we plant sleepers in Terran governments before we go. So if we fuck up, which we will, we can just get a government to send us help.
No need for sleepers - just claim that the US is threatening us with invasion if we do not implement a full-fledged neocon-libertarian-neoliberal-Reagonomics program, drop a few words about neocolonialism and cultural imperialism.

Than watch all of Latin America, China, Russia, Africa and moost European intellectuals rush to our defense.
They won't give a shit about any atrocities we commit as long as we are against the US.

No baystation 12 is an amazing name. It rolls off the tongue easier and would be better to be inserted into public hype propoganda by whatever governments are backing us (everyone but the USA probably, as long as we say the USA is a threat to us etc etc, like I think someone said before here).
I mean, which would look better on a poster to raise public opinion of us?

"Support baystation12!"
or
"Support the bay 12 space station!"

If you want people to be behind the project then we have to have a suitably relevant amount of buzzword type things to throw at them until it lodges somewhere in their memories. People love things they can remember.

If we're not going for popularity though, then sure name it whatever, it doesn't really matter. Who'd refer to it really? If nobody but those onboard knew about it, it would always be called "the station".
