isn't that a bit too extreme , if we decide to start a war with the terra we are going to die unless we strike them when they least expect it (Christmas) and we make sure their deaths are quick enough not to give them time to raise suspicion and nuke the mars .
Or convince them that we will be just and benevolent overlords, but cruel and destructive war-wagers. In other words: Sane rule, horrible and terrifying superweapons.

that means we cannot beat the earth , because our community is about few hundred humans , that means we would lose the war with earth in the first day .

and i know people will be against soul energy and test tube creatures , this will turn all the world against us .

we would lose huge support and die in the space .
We have a few thousand, and if we get a lunar base before the Terrans have good spacecraft (or if we can get a fortified lunar fortress set up quickly enough), we can fire at Terra with impunity.

No, I'm pretty sure it's probability based. You would never be 100% certain of blocking all of the radiation. Not that you'd want to if you wanted sustainable living, because some types of radiation (ultraviolet largely) are pretty important to have some of.
Notably the fact that ultraviolet radiation is the primary energy source of self-produced vitamin D. So tanning increases vitamin D.

So, vitamim D supplements, what else do we need?
Centrifuges. If the Terrans can beat us in hand-to-hand combat...that's just embarrassing.

Say, have you ever seen the film Core?
Do that.
Boom, instant magnet field. And about five dead leading scientists.Pesky nobles.
You know DF in it's current form is more scientifically correct than the core.

As foe loosing the war in one day. Remember travel times, it's going to take the Earth 's military forces at least a year  to reach us, maybe more.

Anyway, proposals

•Agree upon a suitable embark location (for both the test, and actual colony) and how we're going to get there.I suggest a multistage plan:
Stage 1: Launch a robotic construction force. They have a nuclear reactor, and have to set up the following: Ice mine, underground habitation and most importantly the nuclear reactor should be converted in a water electrolizing facility. Which will produce hydrogen and oxygen for future use.
Stage 2: Construction of a spaceship in Earth's orbit. Consisting of 2 parts, a lander/glider and the space based part. Estimated capacity needed: 250 people. ?? ton cargo. Has it's own onboard greenhouse and magnetic field generator.
Stage 3: Launch the ship, have it drop of it's people, pick up fuel from Mars and return. Repeat as long as needed.

Timeline:
July 2020: Launch of the robot construction force
2020: Start construction of orbiter and lander
Begin 2022: Arrival construction force. Begin construction of the base
Oktober 2022: Next launch opportunity. If launch is on shedual, launch first human team, probably around 50 people
2024: Arrival orbiter, orbiter returns in december.
2026: Arrival orbiter on Earth
January 2027: Orbiter departs for Mars, fully crewded this time.
2028: Orbiter arrives. Estimated mars base population: 250 people
April 2029: Orbiter heads back to Earth
May 2031: Orbiter departs for Mars
End 2032: Orbiter arrives: Pop 500 people
July 2033: Orbiter heads back to Earth
Oktober 2035: Orbiter for Mars once more (Important: take fuelrods to resupply reactor)
2036: Orbiter arrives Pop 750
December 2037: Back to Earth
Feb 2039: Last flight to Mars
2040" Mars colony operational. Pop  1000 people

•Figure out what skills among our population will be essential to have before embarking.
We need 10 of every lifesaving medical profession.(2 on every manned flight)
•Come up with at least a rough estimate of what resources will be required and in what quantity.
•Get a more definite number of how many future colonists we have and how many will be required to successfully build and sustain the colony (at least until we can get the test tubes set up).

WIP. More detailed nmbers coming soon

Might I ask why the second ship requires 1000 yrs to get to mars? Otherwise, looks good. As the only Complete plan proposed so far, I move for adoption. DZA?

In any situation, the more imeddiate step of training must be accounted for. Perhaps, instead of just a test colony, we establish a more permanent base in Canada. We could even do launching from there!

Uhm, crap. That's a slight miscalculation. Also, due to the fact that taking food with you for the entire voyage is kinda hard, we're going to produce it on flight.

I hope no'one minds eating recycled vegies and vat grown fish tumors?

Also, try not to blow up the Mars base, there's no backup plan, once you're on Mars, you bloody well stay there till you come up with your own fleet.

we could get enough money to do this project only if we drain out all earths juice (oil) .

It's shouldn't be to expensive. (Also, draining all oil in such a short time will crash it's economical value.)

hey , if we drain all earth oil , we are the people that set the prices for oil .

if we would want to we could set the prices extremely high and people wouldn't have choice because we are the last people with oil .

And if they can't pay the economy collapses. We can't set the prices to high.

Problem is, thanks to the wonders of economics. Raising the prices of oil(ie energy) raises all other prices, including the prices of the stuff we need. So in the end we accomplish nothing, except that we increased inflation by 500%

hey , but we get enough money anyway because people will always buy oil !

even if the prices will be extreme , they will need oil .

That's not how the economy works. The extreme increase in oil prices will cause
A:massive investements in non oil based things
B: Massive inflation.

So while we get tons of money for a short while, said money isn't worth much to us, since we need to buy rockets, which, require lot's of energy in their construction process. A large part of our societies energy production comes from oil, so we get only a small net gain.
