The militia commander bites The Miner in the mouth from behind, bruising the left cheek through the x(llama wool cloak)x!
The militia commander latches on firmly.

So to recap, one minute everything was going just great, and the next we have caverns collapsing, firebreathing cave beasts, underground brush fires, a screaming swarm of poltergheists back for revenge, zombies in the corridors, drunken brawls in the dining halls, magma pouring into the caverns, rotting miasma everywhere, insanity, madness, and a flying crocodile heading right towards us!

. . . severed limbs have genders? WTF? How is that possible?

Technically you could identify them biologically by looking at the chromosones.
But it'd be hard to tell at a glance, and it wouldn't really affect the arm in any way.

That would work for most creatures, but rarely someone/thing is born with messed-up equipment.

Or chimerism.

In any case, knowing Toady, that'll all be accurately simulated a few versions down the line.

Got a good one just now that I thought would fit here quite well:

You'd think the militia commander would use his spear, but apparently he wants to train the dogs how its done instead.

edit: had to update this since right after I posted it I continued the battle and he did use his spear ... to remove the other arm and a foot.  For those that wondered, he is only Skilled (level 4) in Speardwarf.  Just some proof that moderately skilled speardwarves can chop off parts quite effectively.

Doesn't quite have the ring of heroics to it...

The Kobold Thief bites The Siege Engineer in the upper body, bruising the muscle and bruising the right lung through the x(troll fur cloak)x!
The Kobold Thief latches on firmly!
The Kobold Thief shakes The Siege Engineer around by the upper body, tearing apart the body's skin and bruising the fat!
The Kobold Thief gives in to pain.
The Kobold Thief falls over.
The Kobold Thief regains consciousness.

The Kobold Thief regains consciousness.
The Kobold Thief stands up.
The Kobold Thief shakes The Siege Engineer around by the upper body, tearing apart the body's skin and bruising the fat!
The Kobold Thief is no longer stunned.

Even being knocked unconscious didn't break the Kobold's bite.

I will run the experiment to completion anyway, however. Even if the only reason why there is a punctured equilibrium in the fortress is because I have been brutally butchering babies
EDIT: I just remembered that dwarves can't equip halberds. That might explain why the squads that use them always die.

I'm highly tempted to take over this thread until GoombaGeek come back, but alas, I would take everything too literally and ruin the thread.

I'd say go for it. MS Paint art is where it's at, serious or not.
Although you might as well make a thread of your own for it. To preserve this thread as a holy relic.

Well I'm pretty sure he's not dead judging from random activities from him occasionally, so possibly!

I guess I'll make a new thread for my own, but I'm not sure if I can keep the sustained effort to run it.

Isn't he involved in a college semester or something right now?
