Bit of a rushed update since I probably won't have time to post one tomorrow (well, later today. But whatever) and need to get some sleep. Apologies for any spelling errors/crappy writing it may contain.
Zanzetkuken the Great
The Chosen One gains a much better feel for the land after taking a hike throughout the mountain range to map out the area surrounding his hold. With the immense darkness that covers the mountains at this hour, the task no doubt would have been nigh-impossible without the help of his vigilant squadron hawks and the handy flashlight from his survival supplies.
Although Zanzetkuken
was able to pick up a basic map of the mountain range to go with his supplies before departing from the city, it only shows the most popular routes and destinations within the mountains; with his enhanced knowledge of the landscape around his hold, he will be able to make one much better fit to his own needs. Or at least he should, once he finds something to make it with.
As for nearby towns, it seems there is actually a small settlement within the confines of the mountain range itself, located a couple miles to the south. Farther southward, the lights of an expansive cityscape can easily be spotted. There's a good sized town to the north as well, though that would take a good bit more walking to reach. It appears that even in the wild mountainous areas of North America, civilization is never too far away.
TorZon The EverShifting
In its efforts to discover the owner of the mysterious voice, TorZon eventually locates a hole that looks to have been gnawed through the wall of the narrow passageway. Passing through it in order to continue on its quest, the Chosen One soon finds itself traversing through what seems like a maze of many large and different rooms, until it is stopped dead in its tracks when it comes across a lifeform much larger than any other it has yet encountered on the planet...
Confined within some sort of tall, primitive cage, an almost completely hairless bipedal creature, roughly 2-3 feet tall, stares down quizzically at the family of rats that TorZon has taken the shape of. It appears to be the only other entity in the room, yet there must be someone responsible for the creature's imprisonment...perhaps they've long since fled from its lair?
The Moderator(s)
"Like I've already told you, we have no intention of harming you at this time. However, due to this apparent risk of someone attempting to help you escape from this facility, you will have to be transported to a maximum security detainment cell until further notice. But, before we get on with that, we would like you to tell us more about this 'Battlescape', as well as the 'Council' you've mentioned."
Other-ModeratorThe man snaps his fingers in front of the Moderator's face. "Did you hear me? I asked you to hold out your arm."
Jorn Darkmane
Jorn heads deep into one of the many forested areas around, where he's unlikely to be found so long as he avoids doing anything that may attract attention.
Taking a seat on the trunk of a fallen and long-dead tree, the Chosen One contemplates what sort of demonic entities he may be able to bring forth into the world to serve him. Unfortunately, it very soon becomes clear to him that with the current materials he has at his disposal, he would be fortunate if could even manage to summon up another boggart.
Jorn knows full well that 'demon' is a broad term that encompasses a vast range of dark creatures; from well-known beings such as balrogs and succubi, to malevolent entities completely unrecognized to most all of mankind. Behaviors ranging anywhere from underhanded and manipulative, to destructive and bloodthirsty. He remembers hearing his master mumble something about there being as many types of demons wandering the planes of existence as there are creatures wandering the world.
Because of this, most practitioners tend to focus on what qualities they want the demon they're summoning to have, rather than what specific kind of demon it is. If one can get a good idea of the qualities they want to see in the demon, it's just matter of obtaining things that best symbolize these qualities, and incorporating them into the ritual.
An alternate, less resource intensive, and often guaranteed way of bringing forth the demon one desires, is to summon them directly from the depths of the underworld itself, where the largest and most varied known collection of demons unwillingly resides. As an extra bonus, most of them are so desperate to escape from their torment that they would much rather live as obedient servants to their summoner than be sent back. The tricky part is that taking a demon directly from the underworld usually requires offering a damned soul to take their place, lest you risk upsetting the archdemons that watch over them.
