"So... Do this often?"

He's using the small talk, not sure what for Exposition started to speak, surrounded by many facets of the Moderator's personality. Every one silent in anticipation.
Maybe it's to secure a new friend? Actually, it's so I don't have to be so bored to talk to you guys.

The Moderator(s)

"Yep. It is sort of...you know, my job and all." She says while keeping her focus on the task at hand. "Though I'd have to say you're definitely one of the more extraordinary patients I've seen come into this department as of late. Most of the time, I'm dealing with injuries incurred through relatively mundane workplace accidents, which usually aren't quite as severe as those acquired by being blown up thousands of feet above the Earth." She pauses momentarily. "...Hm. To be honest, I'm actually pretty amazed that you're in as good a shape as you are now; most people who go through what you did would require a lot more reassembly."

She pauses momentarily. "...Hm. To be honest, I'm actually pretty amazed that you're in as good a shape as you are now; most people who go through what you did would require a lot more reassembly."

the moderator let out a short chuckle. "And I have. One time I got kicked by a giant-ass warmachine. My Battle-armor kept me together. I never did repair it. Speaking of which... This spot here..." he points towards a burned area near his collarbone.

Drifting over a rather even more picturesque Earth, where Earth had decided to stop their stupid bickering, get their shit together, and make Humanity far better. They hadn't yet unlocked the secrets of interstellar travel, but it was close to the brink. There, in orbit, was a large black plane-like starship, the Moderator's own craft for inter-dimensional travel and sometimes his personal 'chill-out zone' It was often that he would just sit in orbit, or even go EVA in his modified X-COM Ion Armor. This time, he was pretend dancing with some imaginary folk, one of the few times he enjoys himself carefree.

His craft was drifting ever closer to this dimension's version of the ISS. and purely by chance, they had weapons in case of alien invasion. Sure it was a unified Earth, but they still had crazy.

The crewmember, a one Alexandr Kosonova, saw the approaching craft and called out for the other crew. None of them stirred from their beds, or simply weren't interested.
He grabbed the laser rifle and donned his EVA suit. As he made his way to the airlock, there was one thought in your head
Today, Alexandr, you do Earth proud.

The Moderator turned and saw the man with the rifle, and froze. He attempted a wave, but the... Russian would have none of it.

The last thing he saw clearly was the Russian's mouth moving to word out 'DIE ALIEN SCUM!'

"Structural weakpoint. The armor could withstand it, except for that part. by the time I got back in it left this scar from the laser. I also had to reconstruct the flash-boiled tissue. Not fun."

The Moderator(s)

"Lasers and giant warmachines, eh?" The doctor says, no doubt intrigued by the Chosen One's astounding claims. "Sounds like you were regularly surviving situations certain death even before getting into trouble with the government. I guess that either makes you incredibly skilled, or unbelievably lucky." She continues with the casual geniality of an old friend.

"In any case, fact that you're still all together in one piece seems nothing short of miraculous."

"Not quite certain death. they only claim it to be." the Moderator smiled.

Jorn Darkmane

With each passing minute, the ensnared ghost becomes more and more infuriated, putting a growing strain on the magical forces keeping it bound inside the circle. As if that were not bad enough, the gaunt woman, just now overcoming the petrifying fear induced by the sight of the frightening apparition, has started frantically throwing every liftable object within her reach in the ghost's general direction. Which, unfavorably, also happens to be the direction of the Chosen One. While the hurled objects pass clear through the ghost's immaterial form without affect, the unlucky Jorn is still burdened by the possession of a physical body, leading to him (along with woman's probably no-longer-homicidal daughter, whom he has yet to let go of) getting inadvertently pelted with a variety of small household items.

For someone in such feeble condition, she's certainly got a strong throwing arm.

The Moderator(s)
"No problem."

"Heh, evidently so." She replies, returning the smile.

Jorn Darkmane

The ghost screams back in exasperation. Though, disappointingly, does not appear to become any less anchored in the current plane. Bugger.

Jorn Darkmane

Using the minuscule amount of salt he has left, Jorn starts to make adjustments to the binding circle that he hopes will allow for its effectual reuse in a (somewhat improvised) banishing ritual...

Restricted by limited time and resources, and unable to alter much without presenting the ghost with an opportunity to escape, the task of modifying the ritual circle is unarguably a tricky one. Made only more of a challenge by the enraged apparition's constant, uproarious shouting, and the gaunt woman's continued barrage of domiciliary sundries. Truly, the only thing more baffling than the fact that she has not yet run out of stuff to throw, is the fact that she has yet to realize her offensive efforts are entirely in vain.
Commendably, even in the face of these numerous obstacles, the Chosen One perseveres. After doing all he can with what he's got, Jorn steps back, uttering a fell chant to set in motion the ritual that shall, with luck, at last put an end to this poor, innocent family's undeserved anguish while also making them outrageously and irrevocably indebted to him for his services...but mostly the anguish thing.

Several minutes of chanting later, the ritual circle explodes into a hellish red glow, and a pillar of unworldly black smoke erupts from its center, engulfing the apparition. The ghost's roars of hatred soon transform into cries of indescribable fear as it, just as determined to stay right where it is as Jorn is to get rid of it, clings tenaciously to the ethereal tethers of the earthly realm.

Sir Havel the Unyielding

Over three hours of carefully navigating through the difficult jungle terrain finally pays off when Sir Havel begins to pick up on the presence of a large number of villainous individuals in the vicinity not far up ahead. While, admittedly, he may not yet be able to directly see said individuals, such visual verification quickly becomes unnecessary when the helpless cries of several terrified souls echo aloud through the trees, only to be silenced seconds later by the sobering sound of fiercely shouted orders and a few short bursts of gunfire...the Chosen One has almost certainly found the evil that he has been seeking.

Oddly enough, however, not all the gunfire Sir Havel heard seemed to come from the area ahead. In fact, some of it almost sounded as if it came from just a couple of feet behind him...

Zanzetkuken the Great

Pleased to relax after nearly two hours of constant mental exertion and magical effort, Dark Zanzetkuken contentedly looks upon the fully-materialized Reliquary Tower that now stands before him, the lofty edifice protruding high above the lush rainforest canopy that surrounds it. He was even (more or less) successful in shrouding the exterior of his new lair with an overgrowth of the local plantlife. You know, to keep people from noticing the inexplicable appearance of a gigantic fucking tower in the middle of the Congo. Surely with such excellent camouflage, everyone will just assume it's a really big bush, or something.
A nefarious mind's work is never done, however. And after no more than a dozen or so peaceful seconds of rest, the Planeswalker turns his focus onto the next step of his baneful plot:

Gathering up just enough mana to take a slightly more proactive approach to watching the world burn...

The Moderator(s)

"Sure I can. And a bunch of other stuff I'm not authorized to talk about, too. But that would likely mean losing my job, reputation, and possibly even my life. Which, believe it or not, are all things that I'd sorta like to avoid." She half-jokingly responds.
"Anyway, if you're still feeling alright, we'll wrap things up here in just a sec' and head on over to the back of the clinic; I'd like to do some scans to get a better view of what you've got going on internally."

Estimated time passed: 45 minutes.

11:20 remain.
