"...Powers to match those of the Planeswalker?"

"Well, I can only judge considering I only saw them, but I would suppose we are all pretty evenly matched. However every second I spend here talking is a second they can ramp up their powers while I'm stuck here."

Jorn nods politely.

"I can see my services are not welcome here."

Jorn returns to the barn and looks for his spellbook and blood pen.

"Intriguing. Very intriguing...

We wonder, how would you feel about helping us to organize a small meeting between one or more of these other 'Chosen Ones' and a specially selected representative of ours? In a very controlled and secure environment, of course.
Our supervisors would be greatly interested in becoming better acquainted with these other supposedly extraordinary beings, and if you could be so kind as to assist us in this matter, rest assured that your cooperation will be adequately rewarded; not only would we be willing to officially call off your execution, but also offer you some much needed medical treatment to help both alleviate the undoubtedly severe pain as well as reduce the serious health risks brought about by those nasty injuries of yours. Sound acceptable?"

Jorn Darkmane

In absolutely no mood to be interrogated for simply trying to offer some friendly assistance to a family in need, Jorn turns away and promptly begins his short walk back to his Base of Operations...

The warlock is caught off guard, however, when, in a sudden fit of desperation, the woman timorously yells out to him just before he can step off of the property. "Wait!...I-I'm sorry. It's just that...*sigh*...do you really think you can help us?"

"Which ones would you want to talk to though? And would this rep be armed?"

Jorn turns back.

"I'll certainly try miss. Do you know anything about the spirit or why it haunts you?"

"Any that you think would be at all interested in a mutually beneficial partnership with our organization and its government. A reasonable level of mental stability would be nice as well.

As for our representative being armed, unless we are given reason to believe that such a precaution is necessary, it is unlikely. We will, of course, have armed forces on call for basic security reasons, but otherwise feel it would be best that the meeting take place without the immediate availability of any lethal armaments."

Jorn Darkmane

"I...I did some research a while back and...apparently, almost a century ago, a boy was murdered here. Violently." The woman somberly explains.
"He never got along very well with the rest of his family, and as a result, was often blamed for a lot of the troubles they had. One day, his siblings accused him of stealing from them, or something like that. This led to a big dispute, which ultimately ended with him getting beaten to death by his two older brothers. That's the story I was told, at least...

I'd heard that previous owners also had problems with the ghost, or spirit, or whatever you want to call it...but the house was offered to us at such a great price...I thought it'd be foolish to turn it down just because of some old ghost stories...
The problem is, we don't have the money to move anywhere else, and no one around we could stay with. All we can do is try to cope and pretend everything is normal while this...thing torments us every waking hour of our lives..."

With tears welling up in her tired eyes, the woman steps out of the house and slowly walks over to Jorn. "Anything you want, you can have it. I don't care anymore. Just say what it is, and if we don't have it here, I...I'll figure out how to get it for you. Just...please, get this evil out of our home."

Jorn Darkmane

Jorn follows close behind as the woman uneasily makes her way back into the home.

"This is the living room." The woman says as she leads the Chosen One through the front door. "Up ahead is the kitchen and dining area. And down the hall to your left is the bathroom, master bedroom, and..." She utters in a sullen tone, "my daughter's room..."

Though a quick glance around tells the warlock that keeping the house tidy has (understandably) not been one of this family's highest priorities, if one were to judge by appearances alone, they would see before them nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Yet in spite of this convincing facade of normality, the adept Jorn can clearly sense an unseen presence inhabiting the area; he's felt it watching him closely from the moment he stepped foot into the home, and it doesn't seem to like him.

Anxious to get things underway, the woman turns to the Chosen One. "So, what sort of ritual were you planning on performing, and where would you like to start it?"

The Moderator(s)

"A greater level of freedom than you have at the moment, certainly.

You're an intelligent person, 025. Even with the 'minor' mental defects you seem to possess, you should be able to understand why we cannot simply turn you loose and let you go about this world-saving business of yours completely unsupervised. You are much too valuable an asset to this organization, and much too dangerous if left to your own devices for that to be an option at this point in time.
We are aware that this is not an ideal situation for you, and that our holding you here is interfering with a mission of considerable importance. For this, we apologize. But know that all we ask from you now is all that we have asked from you since the very beginning: your cooperation. The more you do for us, the more we will be allowed to do for you.

Prove that you can be a reliable and trustworthy ally to this organization, and you will soon not only have the unhindered freedom you so eagerly yearn for, but the full support of the single greatest country to exist in the modern age."

"assisting you guys for some freedom? Sounds like a good deal. However, given the nature of our insertion on the planet, it would take a bit of time to gather them all."

Most likely a trap. Or a method to assert Canadian dominance over the planet when Unification results. But anyways, who to invite?

Think, think think, who was virtuous there?
Zan? maybe. Probably crazier than me, might lose himself in insanity. Not possible, maybe it's different aspects of himself?
MOVING ON, the stone guy seems a good choice. You sure? he could be a nutjob- We're all nutjobs, fool.
I guess I'd have to ask the others...

"I also assume you still want those BatleMechs from past/present me?"

"Past you...? Well, that would explain a lot...

Anyway, yes, among other things, a voluntary contribution of BattleMechs would be greatly appreciated."

Jorn Darkmane

"The first couple of people we brought in were priests. Most of what they did involved saying a lot of prayers and splashing holy water everywhere, which didn't really seem to help any. Next, we had someone who claimed to be a medium come in. She told us that the reason we were experiencing so much hostility was because we had somehow offended the ghost by 'invading its space', and insisted that the only solution was to make peace with it so that it could cross over to the other side. So, uh, we tried that for a while...needless to say, it was just as effective as all of the prayers and holy water.

After that, we brought in a shaman who walked around the house repeating some weird chant thing I couldn't understand, and burning a bunch of special herbs to 'clear the house of negative energies'. This actually seemed to work, at first. But after a few weeks passed, the activity flared up again, even more violent than it was before.
Finally, we got in touch with a team of 'professional ghost hunters'. They showed up with a video camera and a van full of strange equipment, and after interviewing us about everything that had gone on, made us wait outside while they went in to...do whatever it is ghost hunters do, I guess.

I didn't see what happened...but only about ten minutes after they went inside, they suddenly came bolting out with faces white as bed sheets. Whatever they saw definitely made them afraid for their lives. Without a saying a word, they packed up their stuff and drove off as fast as they could.
Ever since then, it's been relentless, and we've just about run out of options. So with that in mind, please, please tell me you have a plan for dealing with this thing that won't either end up backfiring, or be completely useless..."

Jorn tries to sense the exact location of the spirit and proceeds to draw a summoning circle to bind it, using salt.

"I offer this soul to the underworld."

Jorn Darkmane

After a short time of attentively walking around the house in an effort to pinpoint the location of the ghost, Jorn soon recognizes its presence to be strongest in the kitchen, and immediately sets to work on creating a summoning circle there from his personal supply of salt. Unfortunately, his otherworldly adversary seems to quickly catch on to what he is attempting to do, as before he can so much as complete the basic outline of his circle, the Chosen One senses the presence dart off to another portion of the home.

This ghost may technically be brainless, but it's definitely not stupid...

Estimated time passed: 5 minutes.

13:05 remain.
