I am in...

Moderator looks up

"This is Workshop 2. to leave to the hangar, take a left to the security station there, which faces the hangar. From there, we can either take the Access lift and go by foot, or steal their only functioning RAVEN interceptor, and do some thrilling heroics."

Other me

A couple of weeks earlier...

Great. They had decided I could be of some potential for a freebirth and given me a challenge.

"If you defeat the Warhawk with your oh-so-precious Elemental, we will make you a Star-Captain."
"You're on."

With that historic challenge, the line was drawn.

The Moderator was prepped within 10 minutes for combat.

as the doors opened, the Warhawk didn't let up. it fired everything, but it had one mistake.

The pilot was a fucking rookie.

Using cover to his advantage, he jumped between buildings, eventually coming up near the massive beast. He jumped up onto the top of it, and that was when it was well and truly screwed.

after a minute, it was over.

"Shit story, I know..."

Zanzetkuken thought for a moment.

"Interceptor and heroics is the only way to go!"

The Moderator(s) & Zanzetkuken the Great

As the duo heads down the hall, they begin to take notice of the unusual lack of any Black Maple staff around, as well as the fact that their surroundings have become almost eerily quiet compared to only minutes ago. It would seem that the recent turn of events have caused this section of the facility to be evacuated.

Just before reaching their destination, the Chosen Ones are reassured that their enemies have not given up just yet when they are cut off by a small squad equipped with an intriguing array of advanced armaments. While such equipment certainly looks impressive (from a current-day standpoint, at least), they really must be getting pretty desperate to resort to using such early prototypes.

"It wasn't so bad. The delivery could use some work, but I've definitely been told far less interesting tales."

The Moderator ducks into cover

"Gen 1 smartguns. Without tracking. Too easy."

Double tap them. Watch out for flankers. If seen, use full-auto on their asses.

Other-Moderator

"Tell ya what though, it was scary as hell. Like the time I dropped into... My Immortal..."

The Moderator shivers.

The Moderator(s) & Zanzetkuken the Great

With a lightning-quick reaction time, The Moderator takes aim and opens fire. Drawing most of the squad's attention while skillfully taking out a couple of its members, he makes it that much easier for Zanzetkuken to outflank the remaining soldiers with a surprise assault from the rear. What teamwork!

Once all members of the squad are either dead or incapacitated, the two Chosen Ones hurriedly continue through the facility until finally arriving at the hangar containing the one and only RAVEN Interceptor. This is it; the homestretch to becoming two of Canada's most wanted criminals in history freedom!

Other-Moderator

The Moderator's fellow passengers go completely silent, responding to his disturbing comment with nothing more than a mix of horrified and bemused stares.

Estimated time passed: 5 minutes.

15:35 remain.

The Moderator(s)

The Moderator opens the door, takes a careful look around the hangar, and, much to his surprise, is unable to spot any form of opposition stationed in the vicinity. Or anyone at all, for that matter.
The aircraft inside the hangar appear to have been left completely undefended, which should make it pretty easy to go about stealing one. Suspiciously easy...

Other-Moderator

"I'm not sure I want to hear anything more of that particular story..."

Taom

Although failing to come across any shady loan sharks on his walk through the settlement, Taom is successful in obtaining a 54£ 'loan' from a gullible young man he ran into near one of the local pubs (who seemed to be just little more than tipsy at the time), after making a convincing yet empty promise to repay him with three times the given amount sometime tomorrow. Not quite the amount nor the type of currency he was hoping for, but it's nevertheless a step up from being dirt poor.

Sir Havel the Unyielding

Once a safe distance distance away from the ill-fated shrine, the knight of stone spends several minutes in deep prayer, calling upon the Moon goddess to aid him in fulfilling the shrinekeeper's final wish.
The jungle floor begins to softly tremble, before erupting into a violent quake. Soon, the earth beneath the shrine crumbles and gives way, and within seconds, a great sinkhole swallows the ancient structure in its entirety.

Though the jungle canopy provides ample shade, the Sun still shines brightly in the sky, restricting Lunus' ability to transport Sir Havel back to the archival shrine (blasted timezones!).

Hisir Namedene

In their mission to find a new place to lie low for a while, Hisir & associates luck out when they happen upon a small forested area right on the town's outskirts! If only locating such a haven was this easy the first time around...

In as inconspicuous a manner as one can possibly manage while clad in prison garb or suit of plate armor, the group quickly slips into the cover of the lush trees and foliage.

The Moderator(s)

Other-Moderator

"Much better."

Estimated time passed: 10 minutes.

15:25 remain.

Rest by the side of the road and see if you have a notepad or something similar. Draw some of your blood using what shall now be called the Blood Pen. Write down all know incantations cantrips and summonings. Then continue onward.

(How far have I traveled anyway?)
