I want to know what the value of that was... 200? :p

Its value was 10.

The amount of malice in this thread is actually causing me some concern. I mean, chaining up mothers and forcing them to breed, just so we can drown their children to harvest their organs? Does this strike no one else as absolutely horrific?

lisigziksis, Berrysplit, a crundle bone mace. It is elaborately decorated and worth 39140.
But it weighs <1, which will I imagine make it almost useless as an impact weapon.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Zuglar Luzat, The Ship of Rubbing, a birchen blowgun. It's special because "All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encircled with bands of birch"
Great, an exotic weapon with no ammo, and one of the most mundane decorations possible.

Because it's worse than a masterwork steel spear?

I like to think that on the other side of the world a human is walking on the beach, notices the water level suddenly drop twenty feet, and whispers "fucking dwarves."

Eh,when it comes to artifact weapons, I usually take what I can get; and that's a decent material for a spear, so the 3x to-hit modifier makes it pretty good overall in the hands of a middling speardwarf against sieges. If not, it makes great weapon trap material.

That kind of logic says you shouldn't bother with bronze, iron or steel because adamantine exists. An artifact iron spear is a godly powerful weapon.

People complaining about bone impact weapons don't know what to do with them. Give that shit to your guard, it'll keep them from smacking the internal organs out of your legendary weaponsmith when he gets antsy because his cat died.

Best ways to make a specific dwarf use a specific item of clothing?  Without it being claimed by some other useless dwarf?

Yes, I've never quite mastered this either. Ditto for weapons. I had to lock my hammerer in with an artifact adamantine warhammer before he would claim it, and even then he nearly starved twice.

Actually, I'm off to start a new topic on that.

Legendary furniture isn't bad. Yak bone bucklers are. Legendary furniture can be used to bait building destroyers into traps.

As for clothing, there is sadly no (SPECIFIC ARMOUR) option yet

Ambushes? Hardly a problem. Your woodcutter is simply an early warning system. In every fort I just set all of underground as a burrow, send my civies there when I get the ambush notice and watch goblins get chewed up by traps. Sieges are more of a problem, but dwarves die. So what? I don't even select who is I'm the arm by looking at their qualifications. They live, they're qualified.
