I have a massive stone stockpile in the upper tiers of my fortress. I have it setup so that mine carts will bring stone from the lower levels to that stone stockpile. That works great. The only problem is that some of my dwarves keep deciding to use wheelbarrows to transport stone to those stockpiles, which wastes time. Is there any way to allow a stone stockpile to only get rocks from a certain area? The mine carts are pretty good at dumping everything in a giant pile.

The only stockpile that should grab everything is next to the minecarts

If you use minecart I think the upper tier need not to be a stockpile.
