No goblins :-(
« on: August 05, 2012, 02:03:20 am »

Hello,

is there a way to see in the embark screen if goblins are nearby and they will attack me?
I got already the second game without goblines and I miss the fun.
If I look in the embark screen under civs I see the goblins with red minus marks (according to the wiki it means war with them).
When I embark and look in the civ there is nothing. But after having contact with a member of the civ, the civ apears in the civ screen. So now after 3,5 years I can see elves, humans, kobolds. I also didn't got any baby snatchers or ambushes.

In the world generation process I set the numbers og beasts to high, can this be the reason?

Thx

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

And then everyone melted.

Goblins, humans, dwarves are all pretty resilient in world-generation.  But after you finish generating the world, always hit (p) to export some stats files and the world map.  Then look at "world_sites_and_pops" and see how many you ended up with.

Right at the top you'll see:

Civilized World Population

   122134 Dwarves
   75488 Humans
   118456 Elves
   118542 Goblins
   2904 Kobolds
