((I wouldn't mind rolling them next session- I got a rogue roll instead of a fighter-quality roll. Not that it's a problem. And seriously, please read the flavor text- It should shine a bit of light on the direction he's going. Not to mention giving me feedback.))

Jax is now level 2!
  • Took class- Fighter
  • Took Feat- Weapon Finesse (Kukri)
  • Feat Retrain- Martial Weapon Proficiency (Kukri) to Weapon Focus: Kukri
  • Skills: +3 Jump, +1 Climbing
  • Gained 4 (?) HP

Jax had gone through a bit of an inner argument the past few days. He had decided though, upon killing the first goblin at the entrance to the caves, to go ahead and do it- let his enjoyment in battle loose, let his passion for battle and bloodshed flow at least somewhat more freely. So he had. The beheading of the goblin had put a grin on his face, to some internal dismay. However, he was feeling better than he had before- he felt free. He was becoming more fluid, more free in combat. And he was ready for more. More than ready.

Session 3 Loot divided among 13 peoples is about...

Quote
18 Silver
1000 Copper

Which I will claim.

Also, I sense some people didn't get we are level 2 by now. Update your sheets and macros, yes? Posting your level-up infos here is also recomended.

RP Times!

Spoiler: Kathryns Inventory (click to show/hide)

--------------------------------------------------------
Setting: One day after the Goblin Cave, Evening, Party Camp
The Party is resting some ways on their way back to civilization, in a heavily forested area...the sun is rapidly dimming-storm clouds on the horizon.

Kathryn had just finished putting up her bedroll and packing away most of her things for the night-which was probably going to be a bit wet. Prancer was also secure, munching away at the grass.

She turned to more amusing matters. She spotted Navarre, sleeping-or pretending to sleep-against the trunk of a tree.

"Wake up Navarre-we've not yet sparred this night, and you'll not deny me the truly obscene pleasure of beating you soundly, once again."

Kathryn smiled, and hucked an apple at him.

Thunder rolls across the sky...

The trajectory of the apple was intercepted by a quick swipe from an exquisite rapier, which sent it flying upwards before a gloved hand caught it in its way back towards the ground.

"Oh, my dear, thank you for the apple." Navarre quipped back at Kathryn, moving his hat away from his face as he took a bite off the apple.

He had decided to freeload with the group of adventurers after being found asleep by them inside the cave. Roaming the land alone would give him no better chance of living for the thrill as he wanted to, and this choice had given him a particularly good partner.

"If you want me to be sincere" he continued, standing up with in a quick motion "Some extra flexibility and movement could do you well." he finished, a grin on his face.

Kathryn did a small sarcastic clap.

"An exquisite interception, Saer. If only all my Fruits were so easily caught..."

She stood aside from him, slowly rolling out her arms, then stretching left and right on her thighs while he watched. Amusing, his reaction to that.

"...and if we're engaging in sincerity, your thrusts and jabs could use a bit more power, love.

I know we're practicing, but it helps if I can actually tell when you've hit upon me..."
She said with her own grin.

Navarre stopped eating the apple briefly to leisurely rest his back against the tree he had been leaning against and eye Kathryn, chuckling after she made a remark about his jabs.

"Men should trust their swords, lady." he answered, sheathing his rapier with a natural motion as he talked. "And if the opinion of any woman about a man's weapon technique damages his self-esteem, then well, he would be the one at fault." he continued, giggling confidently and finishing the apple.

"I do have to admit our fighting styles are different, which is always refreshing. From what I've been facing these last couple of months, I was already thinking a spar was already a far-fetched dream."

Kathryn walked over and leaned up against the same tree Navarre was on, directly to his left side. She propped one foot backwards against the tree, and crossed her arms.

She reached down and tapped the hilt of his sheathed rapier with her pointer finger, smiling softly.

"Well, I'm not in the habit of disparaging a mans blade, but I do enjoy testing their strength before I clash against them..."

She heard his remark on fighting styles.

"As they should be. I'm more committed to my weapon than you are-you're faster then me, but I hit harder. I admit, you're a little more flashy-but I've got more substance..."

And, she looked to the sky.

"...To be more accurate-you've sparred often enough as I, but none who cleaved to you for more than a single bout? Or is there truly a lack of capable partners in this land for one such as you?

Maybe it's the lack of quality partners whom you speak of? I've always believed if you're not challenging yourself, you're just wasting time-and dying just a bit faster."
She replied.

"You challenge me, Navarre, so I have to thank you for these small moments of immortality."

Navarre smiled in return as Kathryn approached and stood by his side.

"Yes, you seem to handle yourself well around a blade." he nodded in agreement as Kat talked. "But I also believe that having a certain technique pertaining to how your body moves helps during swordplay. Strength may be good, but technique has failed to disappoint me so far...Although you do manage to pull of a bit of technique, I tell you." he continued, his smile widening into a grin as he said so.

"I believe there is a lack of people with enough passion and with a truly fiery soul in these lands, too many thieves, too many empty hearts and a sheer lack of joy in what they do." he stares in the distance for a moment, as if remembering what he had witnessed so far before turning to face her once again, his mischievous smirk back into place.

"I have been throughly enjoying these moments. You have been providing me with a constant challenge...Not only in swordplay, I dare say."

Kathryn nods. Her demeanor turns a bit...colder.

"It's indeed a rare pleasure to meet someone who is not made uncomfortable by my reputation as the Raven Queens prophet, as you seem to be.

I'm sure you're heard? To walk with me, is to dare The Raven Queen herself to smite you, they say. If you would believe them, Death follows me like a carriage, picking up everyone I travel with.

Well, I will not confirm nor deny the rumors that I bring plague upon the citizenry as I pass by them, turn young children into crows, blot out the sun at whim, or drink the blood of virgins during full moons to maintain my youth. I do have to keep some secrets. *laugh*

Then again, there may be some truth to the rumor I can freeze the heart of a man solid, with a single kiss..."
She pondered, smiling.

"Yes, I've heard most if not all of those tales. They are entertaining stories, I must say, and if Death is a carriage picking up people who travel with you, this carriage is fated to be very, very cramped." he quipped, nodding towards the group.

Navarre stares at her and narrows his eyes at her last affirmation.
"Oh, really? I'd dare test that one rumor."

"You would dare, wouldn't you?" Kathryn said quietly, looking into his blue eyes. She was wavering, leaning in close to him, then...

...Kathryn spun away! Her long blade clearing her hip sheath in the blink of the eye, dropping into a fighting stance. Her eyes glinted with dangerous humor, and she favored a crooked smile.

"...we've a bit of sparring first, Love-the sort with sharp and pointy bits of metal.

I promised you a sound beating, remember? Come prove me wrong.

I trust you're not afraid of a bit of rain. Looks like we're in for nasty weather..."
She said, shifting her stance and nodding toward the darkened sky.

I'll pass on loot this time around, and I'll update my inventory once we get back to town.

Navarre lowered his hand down to the sheath of his rapier and took it from the scabbard with a flick of his hand, holding it firmly in one hand and assuming a combat stance.
"Come and prove you have the ability necessary to back your bold words. A little bit of water won't be a problem" he shot back at her, blue eyes sparking perilously with the thrill of combat as he started to move slowly, soft steps betraying the agility of his movements.

"Let us dance." he said, winking and lunging at her.
