newb question about starting location
« on: August 04, 2012, 10:02:24 am »

I know Dwarves will always start at human settlements, but I assumed they start at the closest one to my chosen civ.

So when my latest adventurer started on the opposite side of the world to his dwarven civ, on a totally different landmass, I was a bit confused.

I wanted to make an adventurer to check out the evil biomes in this world, to see what kind of evil they had without embarking there first.

Several dead adventurers later, I still haven't been successful in getting a single one to the first region of my choosing :P Mainly because I can't predict their starting location. It seems... almost totally random.

The RNG gods do indeed love scattering Dwarves to distant lands. Considered making Dwarves build their own cities?

I am currently investigating what Brainfreez is on. It is the greatest drug that any man, woman, kobold or pony has ever seen, going off of that everything he posts is pure win.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Oh well, had a super badass vampire legendary swordsman/wrestler/dodger/ambusher... nothing could touch him.

Decided to swim across very small stretch of ocean instead of going around by land. Frozen in ice immediately.

Boy does this game love to insta-kill even your best adventurers!
