Well, I played a bit of this for the first time last night. Was very fun, despite having pretty much no idea how to do anything and losing my first game. The second game, me and a random guy won despite having all AI crews versus two ships of almost entirely player crews and being put at a severe disadvantage early on and eventually taking two points back once I had mostly figured out how to solo-crew a galleon. Turns out the default weapon load of galleons is quite terrible - they can't hit anything in front of them, they only have one rear-facing gun albeit quite a good one and the two types of heavy gun don't allow you to hit long range or outside of a rather narrow arc.

Also, just noticed how cheap a four-pack preorder for this could be, anyone here willing to team up? However, we can't do it now cuz they're having problems with those activating on Steam. It says we own the game, and as such the preorder is broken for Steam users, for now. Apparently.

The only really efficient way of grabbing everyone that has it on Steam would be to go through [DFC] and add everyone in it, unless we feel like making a list of who does and doesn't have a beta key.

Now that I think about it, will the beta testers get the game when it comes out, or is that an unusual thing to do? I've not much experience on the matter.

Nah, our keys are redundant in the full version, they are just beta version keys. To be able to play the final game, you'll need to buy it.

Yeah, that's the problem I rather inefficiently described. The devs say they're working with Steam to try to fix it though.

I didn't have any trouble with buying my copy on steam, but i hadn't picked up a beta key first either. This should be sorted out before the end of September for sure though. I'll be online tonight too, remember there's a Dev group event at 7pm EST(gmt-5).

I was playing with (or more often, against) Ygdrad earlier, he was pretty good. I didn't however, realize at the time that he was Bay 12. We should add a [B12] to all of our in-game nicknames. Edit: You can only have alphanumeric characters in your name, which means no spaces either. So, now I'm SenseiB12.

Also, I would probably be interested in a 4-pack. $15 seems a little much for this game especially with it being a niche multiplayer-only game, but $8.75 doesn't seem too bad.
