If i remember correctly, he never had  beard. Even when he could grow one, he had the choice, but he chose not to. What a monster.

Also it's pretty much the same thing that happens when a vile force of darkness encounters a legendary ten Dorf strong military.

Some of the Hussars also used to up the "wow factor" by stuffing severed heads down the tips of their weapons and charging into battle with a lance-full of heads, which sounds pretty gnarly.

The Time Traveler in The Time Machine and Dr. Frankenstein in Frankenstein both have the dedication to their science any dwarf would envy! The latter chickens out in the end, though, and pays for it.
