True Dorfs In Other Media

As the title says, what other entities in other media, be it literature, video gaming, or other whatever blargleblah, that have the qualities of a TRUE DORF have you encountered, or have done deeds worthy of the title? Mine is the hero Lian-Chu from the movie Dragon Hunters, who kills a dragon specifically called "The World-Gobbler", a 100 or so-foot tall skeletal dragon that, as it's title suggests, devours the civilized world every 20 years, leaving nothing but ash. Only a few castles remain, apart from the peasants that sprout up in between armageddons. This thing is nigh unkillable, and What does Lian-Chu take on the motherfucker with? A pair of KNITTING NEEDLES. That's right. KNITTING NEEDLES. Bad. Ass. So what's yours, Bay12?

Kurt Russell from Big Trouble in Little China come to mind. I don't know why. There are a lot of other, crazier people, but there's something about ol' Jack Burton that reminds me of Dwarf Fortress.

That engineer in Das Boot, Johan, the guy who breaks in the engine room while they are getting depth charged, shows up all scurvy-toothed and fey as the captain reaches for his gun, returns to duty, makes up for everything by sucking down a cocktail of battery acid and righting the downed boat, only to be blown up as the pull into home. Yep, pretty much Dwarf Fortress. Heroic failure is AWESOME (thank you DJ Lance Rock....).

The Podcast those guys do is pretty hilarious. Not much of a fan of the stuff they post on Youtube but whatever.

Mh, they used to make good stuff, their first episodes of minecraft survival are epic. But then they became true minecraft celebs as the community size exploded.

He's not media or anything, but I have a friend who plays Minecraft obsessively and ONLY builds megaconstructions.

I'm trying to get him to start DF, because I know he'd love it.
