Since we have physics magic, it stands to reason that we may be able to have some minor control over physics. What is magic, after all, but the imposition of one's will on the outside world? Since we only have a basic understanding of the art, however, we can't yet do much. Maybe increase the friction between the air and some guy who's walking by (making it harder for him to continue)? Perhaps get a bit more energy out a reaction that we technically should? Or even go just a bit faster than the speed of light? There are actually quite a few things that can be done.

Anyway, I recommend we find that tinker and see if he'll buy our scrap.

The tinker refuses to buy the scrapped bot of his back, on account of people not appreciating him enough and occasionally being far too vaguely threatening. He does take it from you anyway though. You focus a bit and make it heavy enough to break though the table on your way out.

The sensor you'd shoved in Sir Shinesalot's pocket earlier has gone off, so obviously he moved somewhere. The radiation coming off it isn't focused enough to point in more than his general direction though, so thers probably something better you could go see. A cartographer (of sorts) at the south end of town describes the nearby interesting points:

Quite Very Muchly Far to the south, in a southern direction: Reyk Figaro.
North: Northernlands College, and surroundings.
Farther north: The land of giant, camouflaged anti-cartography bears. Also snow.
East: The Forest Green forest.
Father East: The Red forest.
West: Flatlands and That-which-until-recently-was-a-volcano. The volcano is now missing, apparently.
