After viewing the PvP video of the game I'm finding my self a little tempted to get the middle tier. But this is by no standards a "survival" game it's more like FPS with zombies and loot.

Yea, they seem to definitely be emphasizing the shooter aspect moreso, with less emphasis on survival than DayZ-But eh, it's still there and there's nothing wrong with that, so I still pre-ordered . I'm probably going to start one of those 'stronghold' servers since that comes included with the pioneer package I bought. You'll have to PM me to get the details/password once the game opens up, but I guess I'll be starting up a B12 clan for TWZ too. Who's interested?

The alpha is supposed to release today, in about 20 minutes to 5 or 6 hours, since they said afternoon PST time. I'm currently in a reddit group which has their own teamspeak server, what about you guys? I'm definitely excited, although I'm sure the servers are going to get hammered. First day is always the worst when it comes to servers.

I have been playing it its ok I guess, mostly I will be switching between Dayz standalone ( out next month hopefully ). I find this more of a action and shooty shooty game, unlike Dayz which is a gritty survival one where death is very tense and you can't play again for a few hours.

Aside from the vague sense of staging that permeates the video I'm excited to play this. The weapons customisation looks really fun, it looks to be quite atmospheric, and the inventory system is streets ahead (get the reference and get a cookie) of ARMA 2's.

The inside of buildings look fairly detailed, though that's nowhere near as important as the size of the map. Considering this is the first glimpse of the game though I'm cautiously optimistic.

Oh crap. That is one completely innacurate crossbow. It's got like a video-game shotgun spray, but with only one bullet. :S

I watched this earlier today: The War Z PVP gameplay

It didn't look terrible, which is why I was asking about the alpha. Though that PVP video is waaaay staged and trying to pretend it isn't, which is always a worrying sign.

Still I would like to shot some zombies and build some barricades.

To be fair, Abed is my second favorite.  Only like Pierce more because of the DND episode.

Apparently the alpha started out pretty rocky but the devs have been on the ball with patches and rolling out new servers, which is promising.
