Is this weird?

I think my dog Roxy smells really good.  When she's been sitting out in the sun for a while she gets this warm, earthy smell that's really relaxing.

The only pets that I have ever had was a guinea pig, a cat, and a Yorkie. The guinea pig was named G Guinea, which was unoriginal because that was also the name of my teacher's Guinea pig. He'd always be watching TV with me whenever we let him loose. Sadly, he died of pneumonia. :(

The second pet I had was a longhair cat named May. She was a demon. She'd scratch or bite me or mom whenever we got too close, hissed whenever she saw us, she'd knock over her watertray so the Kitchen floor would always be wet, and one time he decided to leave my mom a present on the bed.  :-[ Eventually, we just opened the door, kicked her out, and then she left. Sometimes at night, I still hear her meowing.  :o

The third, and best pet I ever had, was a little Yorkie named Jack. He was named jack after Jack Mccoy, from Law and Order, a show my mom used to watch all the time. He was always friendly, fun, and always had a way to make us smile. The only problem was...we couldn't train him to pee on those mats you can buy, and eventually we had to give him away to one of my mom's friends. I miss Jack.  :'(

My family befriended a group of feral cats that moved into are area (we live in the middle of a national forest, one of those old homestead areas that has since been surrounded by the gov. lands) and so our pet population remains a little bit fluid. I think we are on like generation 7-9 right now (with the average lifespan ranging from 2-4 years).

Currently the tally is:
1 Grey tabby (alpha female)
1 Black Alpha (male)
2 Black (female, one of which is the runt that gets picked on)
1 Grey tabby kitten (unknown)
4 Black kittens (unknown)

We once had dinner with some friends of my parents in their house, and they had 3 medium-sized cats. After a while i would just get them to lay next to me in the couch while i was petting them. Best moment ever.
(well except for one cat, because he was very shy.)

This is my ~14 year old cat called Nikkie, after he claimed my foot for some reason.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
He ate my father's fishes, my sister's fishes and my brothers bird's in his career lifetime. He's too old for that now though.

Aww, he reminds me of my old cat.  :-[ He's not too similiar, just the same colour, basic shape and the way he's grabbed hold of you there.
Looks like he wants some attention. :) I don't have any decent photos right now, but my one pet at the moment is my blind, dopey, foul-smelling but still adorable miniature bull terrier.
I had my aformentioned cat, Pokeweed, since I was 3 years old, but eventually he passed away. :( Ah, so many memories... This thread is making me kinda sad now.
I'll see if I can find a picture or two!

After my most recent move last week, the kitten I'd taken in and rehabilitated from an abandonment situation left to live with my roommate for a while. I miss her already:

I brought her in almost 2 years ago, when fall frost was starting to set in... a cold, half-dead runt of a kitten when I first saw her. She'd been the byproduct of a barn-cat situation, abandoned to the elements for a day or more. Though she was old enough to open her eyes, she was very weak, and could barely walk... partially from starvation, and partially because she'd been discovered when my former roommate's mother stepped on and broke through a wood palette into which the abandoned kitten had crawled, crushing one of her toes.

When I heard about her, I was between jobs, and my depression had been hitting me really hard; I really needed something constructive to focus my energy on. I made up my mind to make sure the little cat would pull through, and decided to take her in. I didn't have the money for a vet visit, so I did some research and got her hydrated first, to compensate for the diarrhea she'd had... I think she'd been fed a tiny bit of wet food, and was neither old enough or had the energy to digest anything. The first days were the worst... I sat with her most of the night, making sure she got water, and  kept her warm. Once she looked a bit better, we transitioned to formula from a bottle, which I could only get her to eat when she was on her back... though she was weak, she attacked the bottle in a frenzy, raking it and my hand with her back claws like she was trying to kill... it was painful, but pretty hilarious. Over the next few weeks, she started to get her strength back, and explored my Spartanly furnished apartment. She still hobbled a bit with her squashed toe, the claw clicking against the tile floor since it couldn't retract anymore, but she was nimble and completely fearless. I named her Freyja, for the Norse goddess of valor and love.

I went on to show her the ropes with the litter box, and transitioned her to thickened formula in a shallow bowl, which she learned to scoop up with a paw and eat. She went on to do the same thing with solid kibble. I had a second scare with her, when my roommate left out some oil pastel crayons, which she ate one night; I literally caught her red-handed, since she'd stained her paws red when scooping them up to eat. Her digestion ground to a halt, and she couldn't eat, drink, or go to the litterbox for almost a week, and grew weak and listless again. I used part of my student loan living-expense money to cover a proper vet visit, and got her an X-Ray, a liquid food supplement that was calorie-heavy, and some other stuff to treat her. She eventually pulled through, and the litter box was very colorful for the next few days.

Epic. You deserve a medal for saving a helpless kitten.
