Apparently $3,000 millions worth of tax dollars being funneled to Weapons Manufacturers and Military Operations is still not enough. They've got to cut more from education and NASA now.
And they wonder why the rest of the world is leaving the US in the dust when it comes to technology, academics, and industrial growth.
EDIT:
It's been shrinking, and inflation has made what funding it gets even less valuable; they get less than a penny for every tax dollar right now. And despite that, NASA provides the rest of the country several times more in Economic Growth than they receive in funding... depending on the year, they provide 3 to 5 times their funding back to the rest of the country in new jobs, technologies, industrial production, and so on. Something very few government agencies can claim. For instance, they created $95,000 Million in economic growth in 2002, on a budget of about $20,000 Million... and their funding has been cut to about 3/4 that since then.
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security's budget has gone from $16,000 Million at their creation to somewhere near $75,000 Million, not to mention that no one gets to audit what they're spending money on for reasons they decided... and whoever thought it was a good idea to give them the authority to decide whether or not they would be audited was CLEARLY thinking ahead. For all we know, they could be spending tax dollars on nice houses and fancy cars, or funding rebel groups, or whatever, with absolutely no accountability.
And I misspoke earlier regarding the Military budget. It's actually $600,000 Millions. More than I can honestly conceptualize.
