How does one change 'surroundings' properties?
« on: July 31, 2012, 05:23:46 pm »

My fortress is getting boring. I need more fun. Is there a way to change the surroundings to terrifying? Or change 'Calm' to behave the same as terrifying?

This isn't much help, but try asking the DFHack thread, as I think it'd be accomplishable only by memhacking.
Orrrrrr if you have the compress saves option turned off, look in your world's raw, see if you can change anything there.

Edit: One does not simply, change, the world's surroundings...

Generate a new world, start a new fortress?

Or, let something FUN into your fortress. Tying up a necromancer near your graveyard would presumably help you feel like you're in an evil area, and if you do it right you can turn it off by raising a bridge or something (to cut off LOS).

[GreatWyrmGold] gets a little crown. May it forever be his mark of Cain; let no one argue pointless subjects with him lest they receive the same.
