There haven't been any newbish succession games on the forums recently so I thought I'd start a new one!
 
RULES
-You must be sorta newbish (able to play not very well)
-Turns last for a ingame year and should be completed in a real life week
-Must upload save after turn ends
-No extensive narrative required although welcome
-Former leaders are dwarfed when their turn ends
-You may request dwarfing
-When you are dwarfed you can request stats

I will present two newbish embarks (not in savage or evil areas and with plenty of resources) and we will vote to choose.

This looks cool, but I'm far to cool to join. Posting to watch. Also stop double-posting. And, Just so you know, the real enemy is not E, B is closer, & is closer still, but the real foe is #. Armok help this fort should it see them.

Hey, you wanna know whats good for noobs? Aquifers, go play with them. Unlimited supply of water. and Caverns are over-rated in danger, just go in and get the free wood. And evil zones are overrated, go embark in a Haunted zone, no big deal.

But more seriously, embark near places with a I nearby on the region map. Their special civs.

Look, I know I triple posted and all, but you don't have to be so insulting. I know aquifers are a bad thing, caves are VERY dangerous, Evil areas are EVEN MORE dangerous and I towers are goblins. As for the elephants, I know they aren't very dangerous anymore but I like to hark back to the old Boatmurdered days.

I's aren't gobbos. Their entirely different, and anyone you ask will tell you the same. However, they are about 10X worse, so i apologize. And for the elephants, you may still celebrate the old king of the wildlife, but beware the new ones. However, I do wonder what will become of this fort.

Okay, I'm in. My n00bishness knows no bounds. I just started messing with bridges -and let me tell you, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. This will be my first succession game as well.

Sweet- There's going to be a lot of !fun! in store for this fort, I can feel it. Name it something cool BTW, are we using 34.11, or 34.07 for visualizers? I doubt anyone will be rocking minecarts, because if they are doing anything productive with them then they aren't n00b enough to roll with this crew.

Were going with 34.11 just cause this is the current version of LNP. As for embark 1 I don't think its very good, being next to a semi-HFS tower and all.
[Edit]:You know what, 34.07 it is cause I just realized that I failed to notice your visualizers statement and that LNP 34.11 dosent have DFhack. No one is allowed to use DFhack for anything but stonesense OK?
[Edit]:I just realized that since I genned the world in 34.11 there is no going back. *facepalms*

DFHack is updated for 34.11: you just have to install it, which literally takes less than a minute. It's not packaged into the LNP yet, but it's still fully functional.

OK, LNP 34.11 with DFHack installed it is! I tried to install DFHack on the LNP before and Dwarf Fortress crashed. But now it works fine.

can I take a turn on this? I've never played a succession game, never explored the caverns (did breach them once though.) Never experimented with minecarts, never played with magma... the list goes on and on. Also my vote goes out for map 3 due to low trees so it will be semi-interesting and its the only one of three not in a cold climate. Now I just need to install LNP and DFhack because I have never used them.
