You grab the mystery box off the workbench. Pocketing it, you unlock the door and head outside.

Outside is a bleak, gray world. For at least a mile in every direction is just concrete, flat and featureless. A dusky light illuminates the world, making it hard to see. The entire sky is covered in rolling grey clouds, with no 'sun' or other star in sight.
To the West you see a three story building, surrounded by a heavy metal fence. To the East you see nothing that you are able to discern. To the North you see a small, one story building. The windows seem to be barricaded. To the South you see a factory or warehouse, surrounded by a wall.
Break legs off of a chair, knock out Jake.
[3] Even with all your might, the legs won't budge. Must be of old design, not the cheap new chairs. You glance around but are unable to find Jake. Seems he left the building.
John grabbed the sack, and went up stairs to open the box.
You grab the sack, putting it on your pocket for later use.

You head upstairs to open a box, but are unable to find one. Hmmm....
Take a glass plate and that unlit candle.
Try to pry loose one of the two by fours that are loose enough.
If not, get something I can wield for the moment.

The lock seems to be a simple turn lock, except there's no key entry for the outside. You wonder why it was designed like that.

You ignore the obvious threat of it being a zombie and search the clothes.
You find a note, written on a piece of shriveled paper, and an AA battery.

You stand around, trying to be boring. A yawn pierces your lack of thoughts.
"BOOOORRRRING. Gosh, you must be the slowpoke of the family, or the dumb one. Come on, do something. Here, let me provide you a little motivation"An intense sensation of pain courses through your entire body. You feel like you're being eaten from the inside out. You collapse to the floor, trying desperately to fight off the pain, and start digging your nails into your skin to dig whatever is in you out.
