oh god this literally just happened to me a few seconds ago.

Client calls for my Co-Op
answer, am asking her questions bla bla bla
she says "Sir can you remain on hold while i get my boss"
so im waiting for 7 minutes-ish, no music or anything.
lady speaks "Can you wait on hold?"
i say "OK" music comes on.

She literally waited 7 Minutes for me to say "OK".
Worst service ever.

Imagine it from her perspective: You asked a question and he didnt answer. Perhaps he stared out of a window for a second or something, so you wait for them to answer. And then suddenly a minute has passed. It would be kinda weird to put on the hold music, and what are you going to do. Totally gonna scream at you for not getting your boss and gonna be really awkward. So you finally work up the courage to ask again after 5 minutes.


But seriously, unanswered questions are the worst thing ever. Just answer with something.

Overheard discussion after a lecture earlier this week...

A: "Those nuclear reactors we just learnt about - dont the US military use something similar in thier warships?"
B: "yeah... dont they name loads of thier ships after presidents or something?"
A: "Nimitz, Eisenhower, Reagan, yea, I think so.
C: "Is ther a USS Obama yet?"
A: "Dont think so..."
D: "When the US navy get around to building it, I bet they paint it a different colour to all the other ships..."

There were two USS Clintons, but neither one was named for the president.

It seems GHWB is the latest president to get a ship named for himself (it's also the last Nimitz-class, apparently) Presumably it's a matter of time.

Clinton, Dubya, and Obama (probably gonna take longer than 2025 to get the Obama up and running, sorry CoDfans) are still in the waiting line...
