I see, that's very interesting. But with modern birth control methods, a straight person can easily avoid having children. Also I'm pretty sure that the gene that influences male homosexuality also induces a man who has its female relatives to have a higher sex drive. This means that although you will be helping avoid overpopulation, you sisters will undo your good work.

And yet we have millions of unwanted pregnancies. People are stupid; birth control that requires you to think will only work for people who probably don't need to rely on it to begin with.

In any case, homosexual behavior has been observed in virtually every species of animal on Earth, with roughly the same % of incidence. This suggest something deeper than a birth control mechanism. As for myself, I've pretty much rationalized my own sexuality as being compatible with my wider worldview: I'm not attracted to men and women, I'm attracted to people. For that matter, if we ever encountered another sentient race that was up for it, I might very well be attracted to them as well. The only place where I draw the line for myself is with consent/ability to understand consent.

Stupid of a few days ago:
Everybody is watching a movie on TV, when suddenly the subtitles dissapear. No problem, i can understand english.
A few minutes later my  brother says: "Cant you turn the subtitles back on?"

...And that is stupid why?

It was a movie, on the TV, being broadcasted by one of the channels we have for our TV.
(For you americans: Non-dutch movies are almost always subbed in Belgium, we barely have any dubbing)

Anyway, back on the topic of Homosexualities benefit for human evolution.

Humans are group animals, having a tendency to produce gay-... humans can be an evolutionary advantage, since these humans will aid to the tribe, but will not increase tensions by vying for mates and stuff.  It's but one explanation.

I know a scientifically sound explanation for certain bugs, but you don't want to hear about that one.

Anywho yeah, the sexuality thing was all in good fun. Everyone should be... proud? Happy? about their sexuality if it's something important to them, including heterosexuals and asexuals.
