So basically I should talk to you during the day, because you are just as intelligent, just a little less pretentious?  :P
Respond with the story about how the puddle found a hole in the ground that fit it perfectly.

Perfection of that riposte aside, how do others find their conscious nights?

Sufficiently more creative, but I wouldn't say more capable of rationality.

... arabian nights are like arabian days. I guess there's probably some sort of day cycle influence on cognition (all things being equal, we're diurnal critters.), but I haven't really noticed it. Thought processes change based on lack of sleep, yes, but that's only conditionally related to natural light levels. Otherwise, one time of day is much the same as any other. A particular behavioral set by and large results in the same cognitive reaction regardless of it being night or day, at least for me.

Just before going to bed is pretty much "GET ME A GUITAR AND A PIECE OF PAPER! THIS MUST BE RECORDED!"

Eh, sometimes. Something similar, anyway. But that happens whether going to bed happens at midnight or noon, yeah. Not so much a "conscious night" thing as a "relaxing mind" thing, y'kin?

I tend to think either wonderful or horrible things as I wait to go to sleep.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

You know the gay couple from Cloud Atlas? In my mind that is you guys. Sorry if that is a little bit of an unfair stereotype, but they were so awesome.

Don't follow their example.  :(

Went to the store to obtain delicious Dr Pepper.

On the way back a bicyclist suddenly pulls out from a driveway. I brake and almost hit them in my car.  As he went by he yelled "Pedestrians have right of way asshole!"

First of all you are a bicyclist not a pedestrian.

Second, pedestrians crossing the road anyplace but a marked crosswalk must yeild to vehicles.

Third, bicycles are considered a vehicle under Florida traffic law.
In Florida the bicycle is legally defined as a vehicle and the bicyclist is a driver. Bicyclists have the same rights to the roadways, and must obey the same traffic laws as the drivers of other vehicles. These laws include stopping for stop signs and red lights, riding with the flow of traffic, using lights at night, yielding the right-of-way when entering a roadway and yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks.
Text bolded for emphasis.

And fourth, If you really really ask I'm sure they will happily put "He had Right of Way" on your tombstone, true or not, when you pull that shit again.

So I am a bicyclist, it is my major form of transport, and I have to say, 90% of people on bikes are morons who don't understand how the rules work. Heck, you ask them how they are meant to indicate and their response is "I have to do that?". They are a danger to all involved.
Having said that, 90% of people in cars are morons who don't understand how the rules work. Heck, you ask them how to over take a bike and their response is "Well they shouldn't be on the road in the first place!". They are a danger to all involved.
