I suffer from so many of the listed options, I'm a little worried about myself. My currently evolving mental problem is "Santa Claus disorder".

Play D3? I don't do it enough, but I'm about to start up again. There's a damn good chance if you end up in a game with me, that you'll end up with some pretty good gear for free. Even when that gear is better than what I have on my current toons. Even if it took all my gold/crafting stash to make that one bit of gear, it'll probably go to some random person in a public game for free. Mostly you don't get thanked, mostly the person grabs it and logs out, sometimes another person steals the item that was intended for another character (I'd even used the chat thing so the party knew who it was for). Why do I do it? Don't ask me why, I'm not a psychologist.......

Mr. Nice Guy: I NEVER managed to be completely evil in ANY game and even when the entire wasteland hated me in Fallout 2 after i killed several kids i just continued my being generally nice to everyone. Same with Jade Empire Kotor 1 and 2 and pretty much every RPG in existance.

Curious George: Those buttong are there for a reason anyway so if i don't press it now then i'd have to move back and press it later anyway.

Looting OCD, Cathegorical OCD and Ammo hoarder: That's pretty much me back when i played D2 on songle player. It took months before i finally began ignoring white items.

Storyteller's Dilemma: In fact i have a Dwarf Engineer in arcanum sporting some companions and a elephant hunting rifle (it kills everything in 2 shots) then i somehow took a break... and never went back to it.

Incompletionist: There is a TON of games i never bothered finishing scattered around my room.

I am definitely a very bad ammo hoarder.  Worse in some games than others, and I've sort of taught myself to stop doing it.

I remember back when I first played Turok, I would try to clear as far as I could with just my knife so I'd never use up bullets.  Nevermind that there was basically infinite pistol ammo even in the first level, I kept thinking, "Oh, I might run into a big dinosaur and need that ammo, I can just stab this mook."

That strategy doesn't work well for long in Turok.

I hoard just about everything though.  A recent playthrough in Deadspace ended with me having probably 50 med packs and maybe a thousand shots of plasma ammo in the safe.

Oh yeah. Ammo hoarder is my worst. My finest mental fuckup is in DoomRL. Yes, I'll get a plasma gun and BFG at some point. No, my build isn't even remotely suited to them. No, I probably won't even fire the stupid things for 98% of the game.

Yes, I will carry 3 stacks of plasma cells at all times.

Ones I am:

Curious George: One of the main reasons I play games are for any interesting interactions that can happen. From something as simple as an unlabled button to complicated reactions Powdertoy style. Im still building redstone contraptions in minecraft simply because.

Incompletionist: There are many, and quite a few Ive lost interest after the tutorial level/20minutes.

Ammo Hoarder: Generally only for rare ammo. In System Shock 2, I probably fired about 2 shots until the last level. Except then you find out that even then you still dont have enough ammo.

Mr. Nice Guy: Mostly from railroading. Most games just won't let you be anything but this. When there is a choice, generally the evilish choice makes life harder so even then its still Mr. Nice Guy. There needs to be more (actually) evil-letting games that dont make being evil a punishment in comparison to good.

Micro Your Macro: Mostly for the Curous George possibilities. I like a game if I can have intricate and interesting interactions with things, even if its not necessary to "win" a game.

Symmetry OCD: If its not Symmetrical, then IT MUST BE FIXED RIGHT NOW.

QS/QL Seizures: With literally over 1000 Oblivion saves being an excellent example. *Saves* *enteres door* *Saves* *picks up item* *saves*. Some games with large saves though are a bit of a shock when I go to check where all my harddrive space went.

Frequently Asking Questions: Not exactly as described, but I generally don't like being stuck for very long (at all) and will promptly consult a guide if stuck for more than 2 minutes. Im not interested in 100% completion though. If I don't need it though then I dont use one.

Gaming Masochism: Again to observe the results of the action. This is why DF is fun.

Ones I am not:

Looting OCD: I have no interest in 100% completion, and most game items consist of an inerited base object +1 defence. Which is not particulary interesting (no Curious George here, so boring).

Tetris Disorder: The oppisite really. If I build something with redstone for example (With the Redpower mod to actually enable this) I generally spread it out quite alot. Perhaps its a programming habit.

Macro Your Micro: Assigning macro's is not a fun process, and its generally done to shorten a process, which can't be much fun if you are trying to shorten it.

Character Hypochondria: Generally the oppisite, after all Losing is Fun.

Magellen-Minded Disorder: If this supports Curious George, that is there is plenty of varied and interesting stuff to find/do, then this applies. For most games though it's just large fields/caves full of XP bags (mooks) and +1 swords. So for most games, no.

Gaming Over-Achiever: As stated, not a 100% completionist unless 100% invokes Curious George. But for the hell of 100%, no.

Ones that are not on the list:

Item Hoarder. Basically Ammo Hoarder but generalised for anything. That +1hp potion I got on level one must be helpful one day. *Inventory full, please drop something* *spends next 30 minutes painfully working out what to get rid of*

QS/QL Seizures: I have quicksave bound to a mouse button. That is not a joke. I qucksave at least every 30 seconds. I also used a mod for Oblivion that allowed me to set it up so it autosaved every 60 seconds. Oblivion numbers your saves, incrementing it after each save. The number was well over 10000 saves at one point, and that was some time after a reinstall.

I've really, really started to hate quicksaving in games lately, prefering permadeath. If you can save and load at any time, achieving anything becomes a breeze. If you die, just load from 5 seconds ago. No consequences at all. This is kind of related to Gaming Masochism.

One that isn't in the OP but others have mentioned is reloading after you've spent even just one bullet. Back when I played Counter-Strike I would see people doing this all of the time, and it often caught them off guard. I never had this problem. I often ran around with an AK47 with 6 bullets in the clip, just because.

For all of you poor souls suffering from Looting OCD, I have a suggestion that works wonders: play as a character who hates interacting with people. That means no going to towns or bartering with merchants, which means you have no reason for money, which means you have no reason to fill up your inventory with useless junk. You have to scavenge everything from things you find, or from people you kill.

One disorder not in the OP: getting bored and starting new characters. I do this all of the time with Bethesda games, Dwarf Fortress forts, and Mount & Blade. I just get bored with the way I made the character, and start thinking how interesting it would be to start anew, and to do it better this time. I had dozens and dozens of characters in Oblivion. Most of them with less than 8 hours played.

Edit: I just came up with playstyle idea to help with my quicksaving addiction: selective saving. With Fallout3 as an example, I would only choose to save when I sleep. When I wake up, I can never save until the day is over and I sleep somewhere else. Yeah, that sounds like an excellent idea. I just got a huge desire to reinstall Fallout3 for the umpteenth time.

The only problem would be when the game crashes, which was always a problem with Bethesda games, and especially some mods. That's part of the reason why I picked up a quicksave addiction: the games were quite crashtastic. Ehhh... :/

so, playing SH2, I will leave over 300 archers in a wall of towers (so laddermen can't attack) around my entire base.  There are no sieges on the map that I will have to worry about, and all additional archers keep being added to the wall.  I only attack with archers, ballistas, or if I need melee, militia.  Rations are always set to double and I always have at least +5 spare happiness, and I don't spend any of my 20k gold that I aquire.  Many other games have many of the partial effects I have in this one.   Every tower I build must also have a mounted ballista on it, unless it is not large enough to hold one.  The only things I don't do in SH2 is worry about symmetry and quicksaves.

Not sure if this counts, but I suddenly start swearing a lot more when I play games. I feel like each game gets a different swear, also.

This. Most games with reasonably customisable characters never have a single character played for more then a few hours before I feel like I want something else. (Gool ol' showracemenu)

Mount and blade actually lets you edit your character during play (You could do it to some degree in oblivion too although I never tried anything more than appearance).

I'm guildy of a few of these. But mostly the parts where everything must be explored and looted... Guns must also be reloaded...

I have so many of these. Something that actually puts me off playing RPGs in general is my compulsion to loot everything and talk to everyone and explore every building. It makes coming across a new town a real pain, especially when the game will occasionally reward you with quests and loots for doing this.

I have storyteller's dilemma. I've never finished Final Fantasy 6, because I came really close to winning the third ultros fight, only to lose, become disheartened, and take a two year break from the game leaving me not caring.

I used to be a potion hoarder in Diablo 2, but my friend pestered me until I stopped. Really frustrating not getting those rare items before random people I'm playing with because my pack has 30 potions in it. I'm still hoarding a ton of rare equipment that none of my characters will be able to use for quite a while, though.

It can vary over time though, sometimes i'm not doing any of this, sometimes i'm reloading until i see every dialog option and take the whole hoarding thing way too far. I guess it reflects my own anxieties or something.
