The US is one hour forward right now ("spring" forward). In a few months, we will go back to normal ("fall" back).

Huh. That would do it. So I guess I'm actually in GMT -7 at the moment and that makes complete sense. Derp.

Odds are I'm missing the session(s) this weekend because of stuff. I may be able to make it to the tail end of the session, but not much sooner. :\

Yeah, TWF goes on Jax after this section. If only I could find another kukri...

I'll probably do Saturday's session, but not Sunday's.

I just realized something...

My languages don't include common.

I won't be able to communicate with the party until 3rd level because I forgot to pick common as a language...

Shh. I made a silly mistake and now I have to live with the consequences.

I can totally communicate with gestures, right?

...right?

@Bane: Yeah, can we get a link to your char sheet? O_o

Remember, until the session starts, you can freely change it...

At worst, buy Speak Language: Common as a clas/cross class skill.

I forgot that that was a thing I had to do. It's not like I really need to talk with the angry goblins as they're trying to kill us, anyway. I changed that one thing before posting.

Character sheet is here.

Elves gain common as a language unless you specifically remove it. Even if you had, you have enough INT for at least 2 bonus languages, which could include common. There's really no reason to leave it out.

I'll throw the server up in an hour or so.

Quick question for the GM before the session-would you approve this spell?

Quote
NERVESKITTER (Spell Compendium pp. 146-147)
Transmutation
Level: Sorcerer/wizard 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 immediate action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature
Duration: 1 round
Saving Throw: None (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes

You cast this spell when you and your party roll for initiative. You enhance the subject’s reactions in combat, granting it a +5 bonus on its initiative check for the current encounter. If the subject does not make an initiative check within 1 round, this spell has no effect.

And yeah, it can be cast flat footed, otherwise it wouldn't work. :P

Nerveskitter is usually a fairly unbalanced spell by that interpretation, especially considering that it's a first level spell. I'm going to go with the spell as it reads: It can be cast as an immediate action. (Your swift action for the round, though it can be taken at any point during the round.)

What this means is that you can't cast it while flatfooted. You can cast it once you have gone and are no longer flatfooted, at which point your initiative rises by 5. Example:

Turn 1: People are flatfooted until they move.
12 Goblins
10 Caellath
09 Orcs
08 Dwarmin

Because Dwarmin is flatfooted, he can't cast the spell in the first round.

Turn 2: Dwarmin is no longer flatfooted. As an immediate action, using his swift action for the round, he raises his initiative by 5.
13 Dwarmin
12 Goblins
10 Caellath
09 Orcs

At which point he takes the rest of his turn because he's now first. If he isn't first after the spell, he simply waits until his turn comes up (earlier than usual) and then takes his turn. He will act on this new initiative until he delays or otherwise changes initiative again.

Downloading b86 (I had no idea we were switching to it) and hosting soon, then. Do note that we will be unable to use any maps from b87.
