Heh, I should have realized that. Oops. :P

I don't see any reason why the GM's wouldn't allow you a re-stat. It's not like your abusing the system or anything, you're learning it.

I certainly hope so :P

On retraining, though, there doesn't seem to be anything about it on d20srd. Could you explain it to me?

@Scriver: PHB2, where the Feat Retraining is, isn't open sourced into the D20srd I believe.

This is what I found anyway on the net. :P

Quote
Retraining Option---Time---GP Cost
Class Feature---1 week/2 levels*---500 gp/week
Feat---2 weeks---50 gp
Skill---1 week**---25 gp**
Spell---1 day---5 gp/spell level
Substitution level---1 week/2 levels*---500 gp/week

*Based on the original level at which the class feature or substitution level is gained.
**Per skill rank changed.

I believe you declare you're retraining, spend the gold and start ticking off the days in-game until you have it. Not sure if the GM's will make it easier or harder.

Huh. In my groups, we've always just said that you can instantly retrain one of those things each time you level up. A week is a long time for a D&D game.

If it was my game I would let folk swap stuff around as they learned the system, possibly even change something just because they didn't like it, but it would always have to be possible to build the character without, so you couldn't trade your first level feat for weapon finesse unless your first level had a +1 base attack bonus, which rogues do not. Taking a level of fighter in with your rogue is not a horrific loss of rogue abilities, halflings have favoured class rogue so there shouldn't be any multiclassing penalties, and there are many feats that rogues benefit from so it is not an entirely bad way to go if you want weapon finesse earlier than 3rd level.

The standard point-buy is only 25 points, which is pretty cool but almost never used, folk just aren't willing to make sacrifices... Any more than one odd value is basically a waste, the only way to get an odd increase is through inherent bonuses from extremely expensive spells and books. There are plenty of odd decreases to ability scores, the big one is con loss from death at 1st level as that is permanent, but there are many sources of ability damage and drain that can produce odd values that an odd score would provide some resistance against. Although one can argue that having a higher bonus might prevent the ability damage from occurring in the first place...
Taking
Str=14
Dex=16
Con=12
Int=15
Wis=8
Cha=8
Note that skill points are not applied retroactively, so at level 4 your character would be identical to one that took Dex=15 and Int=16 except that your character would have 6 fewer skill points, so I suggest swapping the intelligence and dexterity values.

Well, well.

I'm at 50% of the Map Pack DL'ed right now.

Been doing it for a day or so by now. If you guys are going to get it in time for the next session, you should start soon-it's not something that you'll be able to do right before a session.

Hopefully no more Giant X's! :P

For historical records.

William Heathfirthe: (( Done ))
Lon Gordi: (( Lot of red X's O_o ))
Jax:  ((I like the way you do trees, scelly- that's what I assume the x's are, anyway.))

Falor Vetaki:  X marks the spot?! There are so many!

Took about about a day for me to get it, don't know exactly as I left it on over the night. Relatedly, where do I put it? I figure the "lib" folder might make sense, but who ever knows with these newfangled computing machines, right?

Maybe we should test if the pack works correctly before the next session. (It is next Saturday at the same time as the last one, right?)

@Urist: Check the first post in the Loot and RP thread, there's a link.

Pretty much, if you don't have those images, all you is...you guessed it, giant red X's.

And GM forget to tell us until the end of last session.

It is next Saturday at the same time as the last one, right?

No confirmation, but I'd think so.

Also! Do any of you GM's think we play Sunday AND Saturday, same time both days? How many of us players could swing that? Could we at least try?

I could most likely do Sundays- they're easier for me (less often scheduled) than Saturdays, of which which I will have several occupied in the future.

Alright. Just counting the people for whom it is completely impossible. :P

That might be a good idea, yeah...
