They remind me of Shook's drawing from the DyA thread.
Good show!

Shook is such a kook! And good eye on that one  ;)
Diamonds and boulders is what that screen looks like to me :D hence Boulderdash!

One of the finest games ever made.
That gave me a great idea! A NES style'd tileset! Do it!

Pfft not NES style, C64 style plus it's lovely colour palette :D

And if you wanted NES/RPG style the stunning Jolly Bastion set may tickle your fancy: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=104261.0

Wow, thanks for the other amazing tileset hookup! Now is the summer of our content...

GOOMBAGEEK! Gah, I love how this loooooooks! The map and li'l dorfs are freaking amazing... But now I am seeing so many must-try sets now that I want to explode! I think you may just have been the straw to break the Dwarven camel's back.

I will be following the development of this set very closely, my dear beautiful talented wonderful artistic-in-ways-I-could-never-aspire-to friend.

I'm stuck for what to do next >:(

Maybe a "clarity" 10x10 pack?

Here is something truly terrible. I'll let it speak for itself.

It's not quite unedited (₧ is very wide, and a lot of characters needed a bit of fudging, and the top row is a better font for clarity) but it's close. Horribly close.

Have fun!

That Comic Sans doesn't look too bad in the worldgen screenshot. I think we need to see the status screen to truly appreciate it.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

This is as hilarious as it is a horrifying transgression against all that is sacred and pure.

I'm loath to say it, but Comic Sans makes a good font for proportional DF. The characters are so stupidly wide and bouncy that they fill a 16x16 square way more nicely than any number of less evil fonts. Of course, the contents of that 16x16 square are another matter.

Hmm, maybe I should make a Courier tileset...does anybody have a font-to-tileset converter?

Hm, how about...some kind of creepy tileset, with overly sharp corners and eyes on the letters and stuff? Or perhaps some sort of font inspired by Russian language or something? Or Greek letters?

I hate to say this, but I like the comic sans.  I'm not sure how I'd feel about that after a few hours of play, however.

Anyways, my suggestion would be to replace all the english alphabet with either Tengwar or Cirth (Dwarven ruins).  They wouldn't match 1 for 1, so you'd have to fudge it a little, but you could come up with some interesting stuff, I bet.

Before doing anything of the previous, I wanted a good base to start out on. Here it is.

I think it's a dependable little tileset: I made it with adventure mode in mind so some symbols are extended to look better (like #). The square root sign is terrible, though.
