A bit closer than co workers, I think. The announcer disapproves of flat out friendships so it's hidden, but they do care about each other, even if they don't really show it in friendly ways. Snark, mostly.

Well, Ronin are just lord-less Samurai, and we did kill their direct lord...
Or perhaps just different Samurai altogether.

Or maybe the only ones that died are those who serve directly under the Shogen, or those bound by the terms of agreement (Kill me, they all die, meaning those with me) as said by the Shogun himself?
