I'm not sure why but every time I try to craft and make sharp rock it tells me "no available item", no matter if I have rocks on the ground or in my inventory... Help please!

You need to be holding 2 blunt rocks. One in each hand. no other items can be in your hands. And rocks on the floor don't count.

I had to learn this fast. Interesting fact though sharp rocks when dropped do not disappear like blunt rocks. I also think I read once you can drop blunt rocks in a city to prevent them from disappearing and thus have 3 or 4 rocks available for use at once but I may be wrong on this....

You can be holding other items in your hands. In fact, you can be holding as many rocks as you want. While holding my weapon and about 20 shields, I like to pick up about 20 rocks at a time, "r"emove each of them from my backpack, and sharpen them all. Then throw them all to grind throwing, then pick up about 20 more... And so on. Highly effective.
