"Hey bones, I think we should leave. NOW."
*Ahem*
Flee to the stairs.
You flee up the balcony.
"I'm not about to give this thing a chance to heal itself."
Even so, it seemed a good idea to get out of there. Trael eyed the way onwards, then darted fowards with blade raised high.
>Strike it once more with my sword, then hastily depart from the room-- heading deeper into the keep!
>Also try and remember just where I am, again...
Since it sits safely on the ceiling, you look around a bit to get your bearing. Sand pit in a room with two balconies, somewhere in a subterranean tower, with a jungle garden on the same floor.... ah, there it comes!
Attack/defense (1d6=1, 1d6=6)In your attempts to hit the gildengleam with your sword, you somehow manage hug the spider creature, and it struggles to get away.
Get off me!/Attack/defense (1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=6)The gildengleam struggles in vain against the skeletal hug, then flails about with its four legs, bruising Trael's bone, then shoots up, then shoots a gray strand right up. Now it hangs on the ceiling along with Trael. (2 damage, 10 hp left)
Enemy - 1
Gildengleam 27 damage dealt. [total 36 damage] - Melee Trael, close Rorgrin

Examine statuary more carefully. Any noticeable patterns or potentially relevant details?
Examine statues (1d6+1=7)Ah, yes, the statues, apart from that headless one, are all of anathema, to be precise, valriid. These creatures come from the limbo, the space beyond the astral plane, outside reality. They are manifold in form. The claw valriid, vaguely lion-like. The craniid, globs of brain matter. The scything valriid, with their bodies of blades. The silver valriid, spiky frog- or serpentlike creatures. The necrotic skull valriid. The huge terroiid, called living mountains. Not to forget the valriid that now follow the Serpent Titan, created after his exile by the other titans, the chrysopelea, viper, and cobra valriid. All in all, the valriid upset the natural structure of the planes, causing corruptions and changes, often strange, but rarely to the point where portions of reality are lost to the limbo. However, there are rumors of a high valriid that wanders the astral plane, crying seeds of chaos, that may root in a world and drag it into the limbo if not destroyed. Of course, if such a seed were here, the world would have been lost long ago.
The statues are arranged in a rather random fashion. Perhaps to make the headless statue in the center stand out more. Perhaps to hide the staircase by the scything valriid. It certainly isn't a recognized pattern of power, and it isn't optimized for viewing. Huh. You're certain you were going somewhere with your train of thought, but now you're not sure where...
Rorrim shall return and quick-search the library on any related article on this.
But first, he closely examines the statue for defining characteristics.
Baradine shall juggle fireballs.
Examine statues (1d6+1=3)Welp... they're all different.
Firebolt (1d6+1=3)Baradine creates a quick firebolt, then decides that trying to juggle it is rather foolish.
