((I see no droplet.))

There's delicious life force in there somewhere, I know it! Just gotta keep searching.

The skeleton's motions sped up, noticing his foe's apparent weakness; his bony arms whirling the sword around in an arc.

>Try to keep it floor-bound, continue cutting at it like I just did.

>Kick out (some of) its legs from under it, if an opportunity arises.

Spoiler: Notes (click to show/hide)

Turn back in doubt all the way to the place where the corridors branch.
A bit sheepish, you go back to the door to the garden, still left with the same choices.

((I see no droplet.))

There's delicious life force in there somewhere, I know it! Just gotta keep searching.
Draining Gaze;Defense (1d6+1=5, 1d6=2)
Where is the life force? There! Yes, there it is, the precious, precious life force. Hmmm, rubbery. Kind of like squid. (3 damage dealt/healed)

<Baradine, requested procedure>
Fire bolt;Defense (1d6+1=2, 1d6=1)
Baradine retreats back to the door into the library and fires a firebolt at the droplet. Unfortunately, his retreat seems to have impacted his aim, and he only scorches the droplet a bit. (1 damage)

<Tiruin, Get auto'd (1d6=4)>
You're a fighter, you should be out fighting, right? Right. Charge!
Attack pudding/Defense (1d6=2, 1d6=3)
You charge at the pudding droplet, and bring your axe down on the monster, but miss by a hair.

Attack pudding/Defense (1d6=2, 1d6=2)
The ooze droplet ineffectively pushes Rorrim.

Enemy - 1 black pudding

Black pudding droplet - 5/25 hp -  Melee to Baradine, close to Zalgus, Rorrim not visible to Trael or Rorgrin

Attack;Defense (1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=1) <accidentally made two rolls; since it's my mistake, you get the favorable roll>
You cut into the swinging monster, cutting a deep gash into the golden body and, as the creature descended, make another cut that severs it's gray thread, causing it to plummet onto the sand.

Reality break (1d6=1)
It quickly rights itself up, and skitters quickly to the side of the room. Then, a strange sensation surrounds you. Is... reality cracking? Breaking? Are there not strange, gray lines shimmering where no space should be? Then, reality snaps back together, and you find yourself decorated by some gray strands of the same thread as the creature, while the gildengleam seems to be more throughoutly covered by the strands, and seeming confused.
<Level-up for you after battle.>

Enemy - 1 Gildengleam 10 damage dealt. [total 15 damage]

Rorrim - search the surroundings for a torch//lasting ignitable weapon

Baradine - Ensure Zalgus' survival thru any means necessary. Attack if the pudding still lives, or find some medical supplies[or at least a book on such, and if not, a book on pyromancy] instead.

((Hrm, I was sure I'd posted. Must have lost the post, somehow. :-\))

Trael lurched fowards, raising his sword above his head to finish off the creature. Being dead already, he hardly found a mere break in reality all that shocking... Although then again, a dead man probably isn't likely to find anything particularly off-putting.

Quickly take the corridor on the right!
And run down it quickly!

You run down the corridor, almost missing an open door.  Yes, that's Trael down there in the sand, and he's fighting... some sort of golden, four-legged spider that enwebbed itself? That's what you were running for?

((Hrm, I was sure I'd posted. Must have lost the post, somehow. :-\))

Trael lurched fowards, raising his sword above his head to finish off the creature. Being dead already, he hardly found a mere break in reality all that shocking... Although then again, a dead man probably isn't likely to find anything particularly off-putting.

>Strike while it is confused!
Attack/Defense (1d6+1=7, 1d6-1=0)
With several powerful slices, you cut through the creature's golden armor. Of course, to do that, you also cut through the creature's webs, freeing it... and you're pretty sure you also angered it.

Attack/Defense (1d6=4, 1d6=6)
However, you jump backwards to evade the beast's attack. Then you stumble and fall backwards into the sand, watching the creature ascend on a gray thread once more.

Enemy - 1 Gildengleam 19 damage dealt. [total 25 damage] - Melee Trael, Medium Rorgrin

Draining gaze, probably for the last time this fight!
Draining gaze/Defense (1d6+1=6, 1d6=1)
You drain the delicious ooze of the last of its exquisite life force. It's a pity. All out of oozy goodness. You don't think you've ever had better life energy. So sad it's all gone. How could anything be more satiating? Soo addicting... not that you're addicted to ooze life energy. You can stop whenever you like. See? You're not draining oozes right now, are you? And that's because you stopped voluntarily, not because you had no more oozes to drain.

Rorrim - search the surroundings for a torch//lasting ignitable weapon

Baradine - Ensure Zalgus' survival thru any means necessary. Attack if the pudding still lives, or find some medical supplies[or at least a book on such, and if not, a book on pyromancy] instead.

Search for lasting ignitables. (1d6+1=3)
Hmmm... the shelf parts are probably not suitable as lasting torches...

Search! (1d6=3)
Oy! This so-called library is a mess. How can Baradine expect to find anything in there?

----

As Rorrim and Zalgus aren't currently close to the gildengleam battle, and have the requisite "XP", they get to level up.
Quote
you get the choice of 5 hit points or 5 action points. You'll also gain a trait (possibly from a number of choices). Characters with access to spells may get to improve one of their spells, and get basic understanding of a new spell (again possibly from a number of choices), which they then need to learn to use (two learning successes).
When I say choices, I mean that I'll try to create a number of options that I think fit the character, what has happened to him in the course of the adventure, and your own input. So if you want, say, combat maneuvers, you can say so, and I'll try my best to create one.

So, choose hit points or action points. If you have any wishes on traits or spells, now would be a good time to voice them.

((Hm... despite almost dying, I'll take the action points.

As for traits/spells, I tend to like draining effects. A tank minion could be nice as well.))

Search the goo. What? That's what you do after a battle, you loot the corpses!

The skeleton scrambled to his feet, readying his sword to attack the creature or parry a blow as applicable.
One of his living companions had decided to join him. Not that he needed help, in truth... The word 'save' rankled with some small part of his mind as he stepped fowards to strike the spider-thing.

>Cleave this damn spider open!
