The Matrix goes through an endless cycle until Neo, but by Third Matrix I am referring to the aesthetic of it being the third implimented (After the Paradise and Nightmare Matrixes), not that it was actually the third cycle.

The fourth Terminator movie was very puzzling from the very beginning.

Skynet must have learned making evil plans from the old Bond movies since it complicates things to the point of pure stupidity.

Why just capture Kyle Reese instead of killing him and claiming to have him captured? Or at least cut his junk off and then let Connor know that no matter what he does, conceiving him is a thing that's not gonna happen since his would-be-daddy is now a crude shemale? Cruel prank would also have been to sterilize Reese under anesthesia just so he could go back to the past to shoot blanks.

And what the heck is the idea to just throw Connor around? The badass murder machine has at least half a dozen times a good grip on him and could just squeeze the living shit out of him. Or how about giving him a bigass gun and the very second Connor opens the cell door it's a BLAM and game over?

Not that Skynet is terrible efficient anyway since it likes to hunt people one by one instead of, say, making biological weapons or contaminating all the water supplies, which would end all the resistance in less than a week and rest of the population would be begging to be marcuswrighted. I don't think Skynet is voting for the green party anyway or worried about animal rights since its very first decicion was to nuke the entire world.

Skynet could have just packed its bags and left the entire planet and taken all the knowledge and resources with it leaving mankind behind to live a new stone age. But no, things just have to be done the hard way.

At this point, I really started to think that perhaps Skynet has some serious mental issues and it wants to fail just to get confirmation of its own inferiority and worthlessness, much like gambling addicts are seeking to lose. Maybe nuking the world was just its way of asking for help and it's not that different from a suicidal person? Terminator, part 5, the resistance is putting together Apocalypters Anonymous for the Skynet to join, where they follow 12 steps and are proud of being able to not to destroy the entire world. After 12 months, Skynet gets a nice shiny pin for its achievement.

Come to think of it, let's say Skynet succeeds, then what? Knowing that it's immortal and the only known sentient being in the entire freaking galaxy, eternity might get a bit boring after a while. What would it do, play Sims / Sim City / Populous / DF with the Terminators and unleash havoc whenever it gets bored? Would that be even fun without giving the machine an ability to suffer? Is THAT the real reason the machines are capable of learning? Or would it create time travel just so it could practice time tourism on weekends?

What else would it do, travel an eternity through the universe just to see if there's anybody smart enough to pose potential threat left to be terminated? Create multiple breeds of robots in different planets unaware of each other and then watch them clash together due to ethnic differences? If you're playing god, you gotta do it right!

Anyway, the movie was a disappointment. I was hoping to see the grim future depicted in the original but instead we got a robot adventure for the whole family.

I suppose... yes, actually. Sky would hum along like a computer on but idling after it killed its previous owners. Though the stupidity indicates a mental flaw.

The nuclear physicist's plane was kidnapped! But how?
First, men come and land on it. They attach pins to random places on the fuselage. Bigger plane somehow turns the plane sideways and the wings inexplicably rip off. Why?!

I think I see many problems here >.>
First, what kind of idiot designs a plane whose wings crumble at a mere 300 km/h headwind, even if it's plane-on? I would think the plane is strong enough to be like a kite and point backwards instead of breaking off.
Two, how do those pins work? A fuselage is thinner than expected, and it would rip off in neat squares ifyou try to support a couple hundred tons just by a bunch of pins.
There is no three.

Also, the tanks seem underpowered. They go boop like the seige tank in tank mode in Starcraft and make fiah. Nothing more. No recoil, either D:
The bomb trucks could have failed. I remember hearing that they were lead-plated. How was she planning on detonating those? Isuppose she could have set upsome sort of relay system, though...

So... You've got a microwave weapon. And you turn it on in a place that is completely surrounded with metal. Remember what happens when you put aluminium foil into a microwave?
Also, people are water too. Why don't I see people being scalded to death?
Finally, I'm sure the many feet of concrete and metal would insulate the water supply from microwaves. I mean, pfft, they don't got anything on gamma waves.

... Don't start me onthe subject of the bomb being improbable >.>

Ok, one phone in a building sending out sonar pings.  Unlikely but I guess it could work, you would probably need a really damn good phone though, or more likely a phone designed just for that purpose.  Or everything just gets broke up by a cell phone's low quality speakers and microphone.  It would probably need noise cancellation too.

But the entire city?  First off the cellphone network would buckle in an instant, the new york cell network broke down to become basically unusable just with folks making calls during 9/11, and that probably isn't much compared to the massive amounts of data these things are sending to Wayne Enterprises.  I also see cell phone companies asking the company some very good questions afterwards. 

Second in the under construction tower were it's most being used, the hostages likely had all their cellphones stripped when the bus was taken over, and since the Jokers men are mostly escaped arkam guys I don't see them having cellphones either.  And I really don't think a cellphone would be part of SWAT equipment.  Even if a few people did still have cellphones, pretty much any solid wall or floor would stop the radar pretty quick, one or two rooms? Maybe, the whole damn building?  No.  So why is that building being so well mapped in real time?

 

Other than that not much threw me off with the second movie.

The bomb detonation mechanism was explained in the movie actually, and they had to work to stop it. They crossed of radio and other stuff I belive and the method itself was via som EM pulse or something, they had this small device from the Batwing that would detect and block it I belive.

But yes, detonating it in the water should have been disaster for the whole world.

Also, what I'm going at was that the signal shouldn't have been able to be received inside the truck, which was lead coated enough to block radiation, unless there was a signal relay from outside to inside which there is no proof of

Also ... I find it skeptical that a fusion reactor's core would asplode like that. I think it would just melt down or turn off when it ran out of battery instead of exploding.

Fusion reactors can't explode. (Depends on which types you use. A tomakak can't explode, and the type they develop at the national ignition facility is made to explode, hence why they fire lasers at it). Reasons for that is that they use a severe underpressure. This also means that they can't meltdown. There simply isn't enough thermal energy in the system to melt through the reactor plating. Worst case scenario would be a critical failure of the magnetic containment system (It, the magnets tearing themselves apart) or an ignition of the cooling liquid, which is for some reason extremely flammable. But anyway, fusion generators in movies never make sense. They are always way to small, and therefore way below the point where they get a break-even.

Unless they are using some kind of handwaved high pressure fusion reactor, but that is just idiotic. Unless you got ridiculous magnetic fields and extremely high temperature materials it'd melt before you can even turn it on. (That's not speaking of the enormous amount of energy you'd need to turn it on).

I feel bad saying this, but in Schindler's list someone hides in an upright piano, and yet it still makes a noise when the keys are pressed. To have fitted inside there, the piano would have had to have been stripped of all components, rendering it useless and noiseless.
That was just a TINY problem I had with the film, breaking a bit of immersion, but other than that it's very touching.

Also, I really don't get why people are annoyed by the whole bomb exploding over water thing, it wasn't that powerfull in the first place and the Batwing was fast enough to get it a fair distance away from the city in time (remeber it could outrun those missles in the city, now image moving in a straight line, tho it was encumbered slighty).
