Whenever Paradox publish a game i immediately see which studio is developing the game. its far more telling and important than knowing that paradox is publishing it.

Adam Smith's RPS brief impressions on his playthrough of Impire. There's also a 7 minute gameplay video. The game is overflowing with Cute Evil and the adviser character reminds me of this guy. But at $20, I'm willing to take the risk. A Game of Dwarves in the end didn't sound like something I was going to enjoy, even though it's right up my alley. There sound like way fewer outstanding issues with Impire.

That said, I did kinda tell myself I would never give Cyanide money again after the real BS that was 3 versions of Bloodbowl, and the absolutely, pants on the head stupid way they released the first one. I don't have any doubts the game will be playable (I never had the issues with Blood Bowl others did, even the way the RNG worked.) But now they're not releasing it in a stupid way and maybe, just maybe they've learned about DLC.

Eh, the first impressions were really brief and the gameplay video made it look like a standard RTS with a few twists to it. Might be interested if we get some new information to the contrary, but thus far this just doesn't look like my kind of game.

It looks interesting, or perhaps I'm projecting my desire for it to be interesting, onto an otherwise fairly generic 'sneak peak'.

I'm a bit turned off of jumping on games that have suggestions of being DK-esk, due to having been burned a few times in the past. But I'll keep an eye on this one and hope that they do manage to pull it off. If so, I'll happily pay full price and get it once it's released.
