: "Maybe it was a way of making you closer to understand by, or maybe even get sympathy from, simpler-minded users? I have to admit, you always sounded dumber than you acted, I think the new voice is more appropriate." Nikolai said before smiling. "Same could be said of me, though."
"The same could be said of all of us, though I, as a bard, have a very astute way with words and so can always communicate exactly what I mean at any time. It's just the listeners that don't fully understand the meaning behind what I say, and so interpret as something completely different!"

: "OH N-"

Aidan raised an eyebrow at Queen's expression.

"I take it you've seen this type of creature before that causes you...fear?"

"Hmm! I was the one to find your core...

If I'm right, your core is sort of like a soul, right? Especially here in Acos. Weirder things have happened.

Maybe it's possible your matrice involuntarily drew some my positive energy into the crystal to repair it. Which means part of me could be part of you! That certainly sounds more cheerful, doesn't it?"

The metal man chuckled.

"HEHE. YOU CERTAINLY ARE A PARAGON OF WISHFUL THINKING, MY AQUATIC COMPATRIOT. AS FOR MY VOICE, IT IS REASONABLE TO BELIEVE THAT MY IMPEDIMENT, WHILE ANNOYING, DID MAKE MY BRUTISH FORM MORE APPROACHABLE. I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, NIKOLAI."

"Grumble grumble shopkeeper..." Bowser muttered as he felt his thirst getting worse. He briefly checked in the shopkeepers hut to see if there was any juice there. If there was, he would take a couple and drink them, while leaving the appropriate tones to pay for them. If not, he'd just search for Spirer fruits, and eat them as he found them.

"Hey, Lift, You can finish up the house now, right? How much would it cost to make some battlements on the top. You know, so people can shoot down, while having some cover from return fire?" Bowser asked.

: "Was. Was. In that room. Something not right, alien. But so familiar."

"Does it react to our vocal sounds?" Aidan asked her, "Just like Cora did to that blue pear-shaped creature? Or...how alien was 'alien'?"

Aidan refrained from the usual, "you just said it." and decided to interject on the thought.

"We're facing aliens now?"

Dell stared and Aidan blankly for a moment. "Ya mean up till now we haven't been?"

: "Not perhaps, but... if she was right..."

Queen put her hand to her chin for a moment then looked back at Aidan.

: "Say this isn't just a dream, we're really in this world together. All from different worlds, gathered into a small island someplace called 'Daros.' Ever considered requirements to do that? The precision? The energy? At the very moment of our death, pulled straight from our universe." Queen looking toward the Bell of Heroes. "But then, what if there's more than one transition? A young girl pulled into this world, reaching out for her spirit guide two or more worlds over? Maybe a villain-god, jumping through the holes in space to hunt us down. How much precision, energy, required to seek them out, to pull them into this tiny island through several iterations of a universe?"

: "What if something is lost in the transition? Information. Ability. Structure. Even their name. That would explain... a lot..."

"Ah." Dell nodded. "We occasionally have problems with our respawn similar to that. The stories I could tell... In my experiance, these types o' creatures are best left alone until we know more. Or until sufficient number of people have been sent it's way that we know what makes it tick, but I doubt such a strategy would work in this case."

"I've already concluded this isn't a dream. If it was, it would be far better than this," Aidan said, jokingly, "I've also considered an iteration to our existence however...I will have to test it out personally."

He gestured towards the anomaly.

"It's getting nearer. Hey Merchant! Do you know anything of that sort?"

Also ask the merchant about that thing.

Sadie wondered, as she did her work.

If this was a dream...she didn't want to wake up. She had found friends here. More than friends...maybe something like a family. And Aidan, more than either of those.

But, something was very wrong. She could feel it happening every minute. It wasn't as simple as pain-it was...void. Like nothingness growing within her chest, trying to consume her little spark of life.

Thump...Thump

Her body. Her real body? It was growing cold. Too much blood lost. She touched her side-where the jagged rock had cut her so badly. It was smooth and unharmed here, but in the real world...something had happened. Maybe too much damage in Daros had bled through, somehow. But it was bad.

There was a slow drumming in her head. Something very much like a heartbeat. And it was slowing down.

Thump.....Thump

She sighed, continuing to work. One last experiment. Don't stop working. Then...

Quote
"...That happens from time to time. This world does things to you, and sometimes the daros version of your body needs a good long rest, to restable the damaged form in your homeworld..."

Rest. The Grim Chest. It was the only thing that could save her, like it had saved Seuche-too late, did she realize the reason for the Captains quick departure. Presumably, the same thing had happened to her. A sudden choice, an impossible choice. This was so unfair...

Sadie was afraid. Would she be alone in the box? Would it be like sleeping? What if the others left-would she go with them? So many questions.

Thump.......Thump

"And on that note's note, I've been wondering on a few," Aidan continued, "Cube, or any of you Uniqs, what happens to heroes who choose to sleep in the Grim Chest? Will they return later on - like Seuche? How many have chosen to get in there...and will they remember what they had done?"

Turn 15, Day 2, ???

The party starts to split up to get some ends met, dropping their bows and finding more fruit to eat, but before anyone got too far away, Queen and REGIS decided to pull off a COMBO MOVE!

As everyone cheered, their health filled to the maximum amount and soon the moment was over. REGIS gently settled down the slightly shaken Queen, and she quickly regained her bearings.

Queen and Nikolai quickly made way to Ding, which were approaching them as it noticed they were coming her way.

: "Hello again everyone! How can I help you?"

They looked at each other, after a little moment, Nikolai stepped back and let Queen take care of her business first. She paid from the fund of Tones inside Cube, and powered up her Fortitude.

She could feel her body strengthening as the bell tolled its tones. Her skin felt tougher, ready to protect! It is amazing what feelings this bell can make, let alone its miracles!

Nikolai stepped up, and paid for his first skill:

The bell started to ring, as he felt something shake him from the inside. The world seemed so faint, so small and forgotten. His mind wandered to his hometown, his house, his parents. Slowly, his mind carried him from location to location, all the while the same wind from back home seemed to blow through his hair. Even though the old world had been boring compared to the games he had played, it had still been home, and in the situation he found himself in here, he couldn't help but feel a little homesick.

The vision cleared as he felt incredible power tremble inside of him. He could FEEL the monster of energy he had unlocked, simply wanting to be let out.

He had learned Tenacity.

Bowser and Cora both devoured a Spirer Fruit, Bowser did so with agitation as he was trying to locate the juice in the concession stand, but there was nothing in there at all. The third fruit that no one picked up, landed in the hands of Sadie, who decided to try out her alchemy to make something great! She wandered off a little in her own little world.

"Hey, Lift, You can finish up the house now, right? How much would it cost to make some battlements on the top. You know, so people can shoot down, while having some cover from return fire?"

The familiar voice rang from inside the Crane Controls:

: "Heck yeah I can finish up the house! Also that which you are talking about is entirely possible, just add some chest high walls with some openings! Won't be a problem!"

Aidan had walked away from the others to try out his landscaping abilities! He spends some energy through unknown means, and stare at the world with a hightened sense of understanding. Suddenly, his interest peaked at the dirtpatch! This place used to be a lake, and he could suddenly feel the rushing water at a single point! They might be able to revive the lake! He started walking back to the others with haste and good news.

Dell had run into quite the predicament, as the glitched creature glitters and glitches around. It doesn't seem hostile to him though, but more... Confused. At least he thinks so. It's hard to see emotion on this creature. It's also hard to look at.

"Is that a chunk of iron ore? How about 5 tones for that, 3 tones for the yellow shlong, and 2 tones for the crate of mysterious mysteries..."[/b]

: "Hah! I see you have a sense for commerce! But no, that is not how I like for it to work. I would gladly take 1 of your flat colorful discs for one of my items, but I only want one! I trade 1 item for 1 other item, doesn't matter what items it is. I do like your white string instruments though. Maybe, a flat shiny disc, a string instrument and then one other item for the iron lump, the yellow shlong and the crate?"

He smiled sheepishly.

Sadie could feel herself fading. She needed to act quickly, as she had to get to the grim chest soon to restore herself. The notion of it seemed so silly to her, but she could feel it, whispering inside. Her body felt wrong, and the small notions in her mind hinted that the chest will cure her in due time.

As the root came in contact with the spirer mush, a special process began! it melted into the mush, and with the energies locked inside her, she blended it into an alchemical slurry! She just knew this... Spirer Potion, would be a great help! If only she had the time to make more...

She turned around and looked at Aidan.

"Aidan... Come back over here."

"But I have to-"

"Just get over here you silly eel."

Aidan and Sadie shared a tender moment together in silence.

Afterwards, not a single word was said, as Sadie walked over, got out the grim chest, hopped in and let it close.

Aidan just stood there, staring. He knew this was for the best, but... It still hurts to see her go.

He warmed himself at the thought that she will return one day.

: "Sadie has been stored... I will do my duty and locate someone else."
