Nik sighs before tapping Aidan on the shoulder.
: "Hey. Both halflings and bards are known for being used to the ancient art of bullshitting, which you might know as lying. She is both a halfling and a bard, do not mind what she says. She'll make wild guesses and say she got the information from a reliable source."

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

"What are you talking about 'six rooms from our position' anyway?"
"I'm counting each chamber that has or had some sort of interesting thing in it. So, every room that isn't a hallway linking two rooms together... it's really not that far, we could leave in a matter of moments if we picked everything up and just booked it..."

"Some sort of interesting thing...well, I'd consider the cracks in the walls which reveal endless trails of floating gears, interesting. So as that room with grass underground and under bedrock interesting. There was also that yellow room which we must not enter alone, is interesting..."

Aidan blinked at the term 'right'. Sure, he may have been putting up a facade of ignorance, but this seemed surely strange to him.

"Nikolai, do you know an exit which we don't? You and Queen, that is? Cora, what is your source of information and what are you withholding from us?"

He admired Nikolai's acumen, as well as Sadie's acuity of perception but Cora? What did she have under her sleeve?

: "We saw a shaft which probably leads back upwards in one of the rooms back in our path. I think Queen already mentioned it, but I'm not sure." he answered as a matter of fact, stretching a bit like there was nothing else important to do.

"Cora, what is your source of information and what are you withholding from us?"
"Guh, really? I, just... explained... and, it's... power of a bard..... aahhh...."
Cora's face twists into confusion and frustration, like a meta-physicist trying to teach calculus to an elementary student... She then curls into a corner and starts mumbling to herself...

Aidan raised an eyebrow at Cora's antics. Partly confused, and partly undecided on how he would reply. If she meant 'meta' as a sense of precognition or clairvoyance, then yes he had it. If she meant sensing other's emotions to try and discern the motive of the person, or if any problem or find was done and yet no spoken word was given, then he had it.

But...her sudden breakdown unnerved the Elf. He didn't mean to cause yet another accident!

"Thank you Queen," he said, striding up to Cora and lowering himself to her height.

"Have I offended you?"

Turn 12, Dungeon

The team decided to take a small rest and get some things done. Sadie ate the banana, but suddenly she doesn't feel so good. Aidan stared into the vast expanse in front of him, but it didn't help one bit. He also tried to use Truesight on the cancerous bow, but there would be nothing to gain from it. It is simply a bow that can cause horrible tumors in the foes it attacks.

Queen got REGIS to drop the Cube so she could check the Bell of Heroes menu:

Huh, a lot of missing features, why am I not surprised.

Cora then checked the Grim Chest menu:

It's more of the same over here.

Then Dell tried opening the Mann Co Crate:

Uh...

Well whaddayaknow, it worked! The shotgun fell on the floor as the crate itself simply broke and vanished.

After speaking with Cora...

"You know, this 'meta' sounds like a good idea to use. Some kind of advanced clairvoyance, Cora? Anyway, I'll just pull the lever on the far end of this hall, if anyone doesn't mind."

He looked at Cora once more before standing up and moving away.

"Using meta, what else can you sense, halfling?"

: "What a bore." Nik says, yawning and waiting for something to happen. "Hey, you two, REGIS and Queen. If you are planning on walking around, you should take more people. I doubt two people is safe enough."

Just wait.

"We only have this room and the other, if we'll walk around. The only path back is that exit you and Queen spotted, and perhaps any other room we've missed earlier. Could you pull the top lever at the same time with me, Nik?

"Unless you want to go through the yellow door now."

"Well, that's useful, another set of empty slots..."

"Using meta, what else can you sense, halfling?"
"I can sense a lot of things, like how you are a imbecile and don't understand the base meaning of the words you use to speak. And I am too done with the topic to explain anymore, I pray to the gods to give you a dictionary so that you can learn something. And, please, if you are to pull one of the levers, pulls them both... for the only other courses of action require fighting something that shouldn't exist, or leaving."

Cora waits to see what the levers do, if anything. Or strides with the party to wherever they go.

Aidan sighed at the response. Nik was being quiet, and strangely was everyone else.

Everyone but that halfling.

She only sees the surface of who I am.

He didn't feel any hatred towards her, nor fear or loathing. Apathy, pity or concern were out of the question. But disappointment.

"Very well then."

Go off and pull both levers!

"Oh baby. This is what I'm talkin' about!" Dell exclaimed as he picked up his standard primary. "Six shells, six bullets each."

He used the sliding thingy. It made a satisfying Cha-chunk sound and dropped a perfectly good bullet on the ground. "Yep, works just like I remember." He surreptitiously reloaded the bullet into the chamber. "Anybody want this bow here?"
