: "Pfffahaha!" Queen hand-waved. She wasn't immune to sarcasm, thankfully. "Remind me of one of my daughter's old friends. Funny boy, huge temper, real short. Always too busy with his magicky projects to settle down with anyone. Wonder where he is now?"

He holds his serious act for at least time enough to get Queen visibly uncomfortable before finally breaking into a chuckle.
: "Hehehehe, just joking. Now, seriously, why was it unusual for me? I was only curious."

Queen shrugged.

: "Had the wrong idea of you. Thought you were an angry sage with no sympathy. Omniscient, maybe. But you're just a lost boy trying to find a rank here among giants and dragons. No different than anyone else."

[Caellath]

Nik rose one of his eyebrows, almost completely hidden by the hair falling over his forehead as he cracked a smile.
: "Angry? Sometimes. Sage? Hardly. Omniscient? Nah. Lost? Aren't we all?" he giggled for a while. "Yeah, nothing too amazing here. It is not like I'm a king, hero or anything of the like. I'm probably more similar to an apprentice scholar, or a peasant. Due to some peculiar things in my life, though, I'm actually pretty comfortable with our current situation."

"Heh. I like your style. The puns, not so much," Bowser said. He charged forward for the creature, doing a slam assault.

"Well, it comes with the job, hard to avoid sometimes."

Turn 5, Dungeon




After stuffing the Cube with Tones (and handing 10 of them to Dell) Team ALPHA drops down the crag in the floor.



Like with Team BETA, they land remarkably soft, like something is keeping them from harm. They come across two more doors, one of which seems locked, due to the giant lock on the front of it.



Meanwhile, Team BE2 has entered the eastern room, coming to a weird pedestal, a hole in the ceiling and a tablet on the wall, which reads:



They should get another writer, this stuff is so melodramatic it might summon goths!



Team BE1 charges the odd wall like creature!





They both pull off their charge assaults, hurting the foe for 8 damage!



it quickly turns around and counters with a lick from it's massive tongue! It dealt no damage to Bowser, but he is filled with dread over how it felt. He will not be able to move next turn.

"Hrm." Dell looked thoughtfully at the locked door. Hey big guy, I don't suppose you could pull the lock off? Or," He amended, "The entire door?"

[Tiruin]

"I believe we're forgetting something- but did the other group have any food or water with them? We might-"

The Elf blinked and tapped the shoulder of Dell, pointing at the wall. "Tell me this is a dungeon, because I've never seen anything with the likes of that design!"

Aidan inspects the...broken wall right to his left that looks like a load of gears and wonderful mechanisms.

[Dermonster]

Dell blinks and inspects the wall. "That is mighty strange." he admitted. "If the wall was broken like that it should be showing dirt and stones." Dell grimaced. "Then again I've never had to deal with a hostile alternate dimension before. Hrm."

Inspect the broken wall. Poke it.

: "No, think we should head back. You go on, though, find Bowser and team. I have one last thing to look about."

Queen headed west again but this time examined the machinery more closely and started pressing some buttons on the front plate if that's what they were.

[Dwarmin]

"Gears? Oh, I wasn't ever a fan of machines." Sadie said sadly, remembering only the ones that had been used to hurt her people-submarines, mines, divers, depth charges, drills...

"We can take a small break, I suppose. I'll do some tests...

Banana research, hee hee hee." She said, giggling. For no apparent reason.

Action: Use the time to do some alchemical research on the Banana in the grim chest. Since there's only one (seemingly) path, move on when the parties ready.

[Tiruin]

"Perhaps it broke from the outside, meaning it leads...inwards? I'm unsure with this kind of isometric viewpoint."

Replace [Food] paste with Wooden Sword!

"And to be sure our- only supply of rationing is safe, I'm putting this back in and testing that Slasher's weapon. Is anyone suspicious of why the Reaper wanted us in here for us only not to meet a sudden death?"

Aidan looked over at Sadie's inclinations.

"Alchemy on a Banana, I'd love to see what would come out of that!"

: "No, think we should head back. You go on, though, find Bowser and team. I have one last thing to look about."

The young man was slightly disappointed his joke had been handwaved so quickly. Maybe he needed to try harder and act  a little creepier for it to work. That could be either interesting or very risky. But all in the name of a good joke, as they said.

Nikolai crossed his arms behind his head, one of his hands resting lazily near the hilt of the sword, and sighed.
: "Not leaving until you do. You asked me to follow you and that's what I'm doing. And I told you, you're my type. Can't leave you around here alone."

"Eaugh... I wasn't the target but the smell coming off that thing only makes the thought of what if felt like even worse..." Cora takes a step back to avoid being molested by a tongue, and attacks with her bow.

"Oh...my... god... the tongue! THE TONGUE! Kill it! Kill it until it's dead! Killitkillitkillitkillit!" Bowser rambled, traumatized into doing nothing as he struggled to repress the horrid memory.

[Dwarmin]

"I assume the Reaper has his own rules to play by." Sadie said. "Otherwise, this would be much harder."
