Queen walked over to the conversing members after fiddling with the duplicator.

: "Apologize I did not make further efforts to save her, if putting her in the chest was needed." She grit her teeth. "Afraid that Kaina's... appearance jogged some horrific memories. I may not be in my best mind here. Hate to say it but... not as good a healer as REGIS. All I could think of was tearing her apart."

Queen looked down.

: "I'm sorry. But her heart lives on."

Noticing the busy-ness of Cora and Dell as well as what had happened to Kaina, Aidan decided to leave them alone for the moment, "Excuse my leave, I have to tend to something."

He approached Bowser and through that, Cube, and requested if he could borrow 1 tone for payment to the merchant. And also helped with that strange chest that suddenly appeared in the center of the stone circle.

"My King, would you mind if I ask this question to Cube?

"Is there anything like paper or parchment around here that I could write on? I believe recording events for our own use or for future heroes would be beneficial."

Nikolai nimbly got back to the ground and got back to his merry way, smiling with unprecedented smugness.
: "Well, do I care? No, I don't, and that is the beauty of it."

: "Protect the ones who still have a chance and mourn the ones who don't. I don't think what you did was wrong."

In the end of things, Nikolai was absolutely certain everything was justified. He had acted to protect his teammates in the most efficient way possible, and that was killing Kaina. She was a threat to them, and her destruction wasn't a burden on him. Others could think otherwise, but tough luck; Nikolai didn't care about them. He would be there to help take the team to victory and safety, no matter how hard or painful for the others that could be. He was focused on their mission, and losing heart was not an option.

"Wow, a real Valhalla you got yourselves there... Though without the feasting for eternity, then fighting to the death for eternity, ad infinitum... You just fight... forever... not my kind of afterlife, but I could learn to like it..... Hats as a status symbol... you would like my 3rd cousins of my fathers side... They can't get enough of hats... have to get at least 6 types of every hat in existence, if it doesn't exist they pay people to make em... ludicrous amount too, made me want to be a tailor growin' up with 'em... that plan kinda fell through the cracks though... Cora scowls... then removing the thought. "Think I could still use a needle if I needed to..."

Dell shrugged. "I wouldn't call it any sort of paradise, missy. For one, I haven't had anything to eat for years sides pills, medicinal cake, and the rare sandvich when I can get a drop on a Heavy. The fightin' never ends and the sun and moon never move. It's always midnight on Doublecross and BadWater's always at high noon. Strange places we go sometimes, like M-Kart. Darn chaotic when we find out we've been send to a Teufort with an overclocked respawn timer. Did I ever tell you who we were fightin'?"

Dell snorts. "Copies. Imagin' goin' out there, ol' dustbowl in th' middle of the desert. You get suited up, you get your weapons, the buzzer rings and you head on out only to find that your new enemies are mirror images of yourself and your teammates, x'cept a different color shirt. Then," Dell raised a finger. "They start firin', and you got no choice but to start shootin' back, and soon enough you just killed the man you talked shop with only an hour before. Or you're swinging a large heft of metal right in your own teeth."

Dell paused and shook his head. "Sorry 'bout unloadin' all that on ya'll. Despite what I said, it's not all that bad. It's a little disturbin' at first, but you get over it, and you find those little moments that make it worth it. Sometimes there's a bit of pranking on the battlefield, sometimes something funny or interestin' happens. You find a good hat or you get a new weapon or there's some shenanigans or other occurin' round the premises. He grinned. "Don't hurt that I get paid absurd amounts of cold hard cash, and the chance to work on some cuttin' edge contraptions. Hmm. Dell thought for a second. "Didn't that Aidan fellow say there was an upgrade station here? I think I'll go check that out, see if it's anything like the ones in my world. Nice talkin' to ya, I don't get to meet people in my line o' work."

With that, Dell tipped his hat and walked off.

Queen, finished talking with REGIS, noticed a new man in a hardhat.

Once again, the large metal man approached the newcomer and waved.

"HELLOS DERE!"

Dell made a sound and turned. "Howdy, what can I- Whoah Nelly!" The engineer looked up into the face of what appeared to be a gigantic white robot with green spots and floating bits. Dell was put on guard. "What in tarnation are you then? Some type of AI? Can't say I know of anything that can make limbs float like that."

[Burkhart]

"Howdy, what can I- Whoah Nelly!"

"I AM NOTS NELLIE. I AMS REGGIE."

"OH. THIS UNIT IS IDENTIFIED AS THE RECOVERY, EXTRACTION, AND GENERAL INFANTRY SUPPORT CONSTRUCT, DESIGNATED AS R.E.G.I.S. FOR SHORT. REGGIE IS PLEASEDUN TO MEETS YOU, MR. HARDUN HAT. REGGIE CAN'TS TELLS YOU WHY I'S FLOATUNS LIKES THIS, THOUGHS."

Dell stared at the giant golem. A length of time passed. Explosives, bullets, and great streams of fire failed to materialize.

He gave it a tad longer.

"Nice meetin' ya pard'ner. Names Dell. I'm headin' on over to see 'bout this upgrade station I heard about. Must say, it's nice to see an artificial autonomous assembly that's not out to steal my job."

REGIS patted the man on the back and walked with him to Ding.

"REGGIE DOESN'TS EVEN KNOWS WHATS YOUR JOBS EVEN ISUN."

"Heh, simple. I'm an engineer, that means I solve problems. Problems like 'What am I gonna do when this three hundred pound machine gun toting Russian barrels at me from 'round a corner?' The answer? Use a gun. And if that don't work, build more guns." Dell smirked. He didn't get the chance to boast often. "In a less theoretical sense, I built and maintained a variety of contraptions on the battlefield back home. Somethin' that can teleport someone from spawn to the front lines. A big ol' box that heals wounds and dispenses ammo. A large semi-automated sentry gun that can flatten most anything with a hail of rockets and bullets in five seconds. That answer your question?"

"HMMM. SO'S YOUSE SAYING THAT YOUSE BUILDS THINGS DATS HELPUNS AND HEALUNS PEOPLES ON THE BATTLEFIELDS. THAT SOUNDUNS FINE BY REGGIE! REGGIE WAS BUILTUN TO PROTECTS AND HEALUNS PEOPLES, EVEN THOUGH RECENTLYS IT SEEMUNS LIKE SOMES PEOPLES WOULDUN RATHER THATS REGGIE NOTS DO HIS JOBS."

He fell silent for a moment.

"BUTS THAT'S NOTUN SOMETHINGS RELEVANTUN TO THE CURRENTS CONVERSATIONS! YOUSE WANTEDUN TO CHECKS OUT DA UPGRADES STATION? HER NAMES IS DING."
