Nikolai shrugs nonchalantly with a "like I'll believe you anyway."
: "You have your sources, I have mine. The fact is that I don't like Mario. But I also don't appreciate you too much because you are a villain which was probably designed for losing and trying cheap tricks fated to fail." he continues "If I remember correctly you were constantly humiliated during that adventure against Cackletta and Fawful and Cackletta not only gave you a run for your money, the witch also possessed your body. And that was in part because you decided not to cooperate with Mario and Luigi."

With a slight smirk, he finally finishes.
: "You are also a fictional character in my world and I could not care less if you aren't the villain they picture. The information I was given can be considered flawed, but your image wouldn't get any better anyway even if you kissed babies and built houses for the poor. Don't deny the fact you are still a politician at a level, and you'll jump at the first chance to lie to have a more favorable image. And most importantly, as aforementioned, I don't care."

Queen turned back around to Nik. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

: "Just unfair! Don't you know what crimes Mushroom Kingdom's committed? I'd say Bowser's a hero, if brutal. After all, enemy of enemy."

Wait a minute.

: "Eep!"

Nikolai raises an eyebrow at Queen's interjection.
: "What do you mean? Enemies?" he aks before stopping for a moment with a thoughtful look upon his face, as if his brainpower was directed towards solving the puzzle in place.

After a few silent minutes, Nikolai finally raises his face with a serious look.
: "Queen, I think you are from an alternate Hyrule and not from the one I know. The Hyrule I know is always saved by Link no matter the odds, and you seem a little oblivious to his activities. It may be the same case for Bowser here, although he is so goofy he may actually be the one I know." he stops for a moment and bites his tongue. "What if none of us is real? We may all actually be fictional characters. It is a thesis I had entertained but ditched several times due to the fact I consider myself a common, boring human. But the possibility is always there."

: "What do you mean? Enemies?" he aks before stopping for a moment with a thoughtful look upon his face, as if his brainpower was directed towards solving the puzzle in place.

: "Yes. In fact, Bowser may be the reason Shroom-heads hadn't taken over Hyrule... other than..."

She trails off, being brought back to her dream last night.

: "Still do not understand 'real', 'imaginary'. If I can touch you and heal you, are we not both real?"

"GAH! How did you know about that!? That's supposed to be classified!" Bowser yelped as Nikolai revealed his knowledge about the Cackletta possession. "I don't know how you heard of that, but don't tell a soul, understand?!" Thinking it best to change the subject away from such an embarrassing topic, Bowser picked up on Queen's own statements.

"Huh? Shroom heads? If you mean the Shroob aliens, probably. But if you mean the Mushroom Kingdom, you don't gotta worry about them. Their worst crimes is grievous stupidity, and a terminal level of sloth. Much too lazy to defend themselves, much less invade someone else's turf. Heh, in fact, I was proud of them when a couple of the toads traveled with Mario and helped him the latest time the princess was my, ah, involuntary guest. "

"As for being fictional and real, you'd be surprised at just how potent the unreal can be. Take dreams for example. They can't be real, can they? And yet, there was an empire in the realm of dreams. We call it SubCon. Early in my reign, we discovered them, and the fact they were beginning to expand from dreams to reality, one mind at a time. But that threat was nipped in the bud fortunately, in a rare show of initiative from Mario and the princess. In fact, later I allowed refugees from Subcon, mostly the bob-ombs and shyguys, into the Koopa kingdom, even into the Koopa Troop. ... you know, this whole place kinda reminds me of SubCon. Floating islands, strange creatures, a really whimsical but mysterious feel to the scenery... Wonder if they're related."

Aidan took mental notes of the dialogue between the pseudo-salamander, Queen and that human. If he would live through this whole trial, this would be a work that would take a tremendous effort to encase in the lore of myth and legend.

He smiles as he knew, that this was all too real.

"So would anyone disagree when I would add in that Nikolai is a sage? For a King, he seems to know...all your secrets."

The notion of whether anything happening here was reality or not still perturbed him.

"Nikolai, what do you know about death? This goes for everyone else, as I'm actually unsure if we are in a state between life and death, the afterlife, or in a realm of the Fey*. This isn't a dream, that I know so far, though."

: "Well, about death? I tend to believe in what was told us; this is either a second chance, a fake second chance which actually may have us find a new purpose or a great game created by a twisted mind to watch us struggle." he says.

: "And it was a giant black hand that took Kaina's body. It seemed she died too." Nikolai completes

: "Perhaps Nikolai speaks truth. The Bowser I heard of was a ruthless, jealous warrior where you seem a competent, cheery tactician." She looked at the others still heading towards the battle. "Maybe not so bad after all."

Queen headed off once again towards battle.

Take Limit Break and sell the hammer if possible.

Then help the team against the enemies with a downwards hacking motion with the sword. If a battle isn't started, get some Spirer Fruits and deposit them in the Cube.

: "I think we'll understand more in due time, no need to rush it or get anxious over these matters."

: "Yes, I would be delighted to do any type of business! Hmmm... It looks a little used, but it is a Generic brand weapon. I will give you 4 tones for it!"

We assume that Nikolai thought this offer good enough, and handed over the hammer.

: "It is a pleasure doing business with you."

[EXCUSE ME, BUT HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST TO MANUFACTURE A PAIR OF IMPROVED FISTS FOR ME? SOMETHING SOLID TO CAUSE A LOT OF DAMAGE WOULD BE NICE.]

: [You are mistaken mister magick robot, we cannot manufacture things, only duplicate them. You must find a pair of gloves yourself, or maybe, offer up your hands directly, since you are simply a series of parts.]

"Cube. Is it just me or does it seem like this place replenishes itself from an unknown source? I've never seen these many creatures around, and the trees look renewed.

"Or perhaps this is another part of the trial we've all encountered? We should be seeing houses and tracks of past heroes, judging by the fact that Cora has been here before, but I'm not seeing anything of the sort -- natural life and land, only. Anyway, will you protect the other three Uniqs around you, or do we carry you when we do move on?"

: "My records show that previous heroes have been here, but maybe they never got far enough to get Lift, or maybe Lift cleans up the mess and restores the area to its previous condition, I don't really know. After each session of heroes, most of my memory resets, so I sadly cannot tell you. The place has always seemed to restore itself after a day has gone by, not that days mean much in this timeless expanse."

"Strange seeing a merchant like you here. How did you survive from the creatures that inhabit this place? And...when you're done with business, where will you head?

"And...you did get those weapons from chests, right?"

: "Well, taken from chests, ripped out of the spine of fellow platebeasts, its all semantics in the end! The deal is, mister lean and clean, that I am one of the foes you have encountered, myself being a platebeast! The key difference, is that I see myself having reason in gathering Tones through purchase, not killing! So all I want of you guys is a little respect and some delightful Tones!"

"Does anyone mind if I buy that before we get into a fight? I don't think...I should be fighting in a melee again..."

As Sadie got the Tones from the Cube, the salesman hefted down a bow, another one reappearing in it's spot.

: "Here you go big lady! Pleasure doing business with you!"

Nikolai requests back the Horror Heart, and it reappears and is absorbed into him.

Deals are dealt, items are shuffled, lets ROCK!

Specification:
Unless another action is specified, combat is started at basic neutral ground. Saying that you Charge into combat is the easiest way for me to recognise what you do. There can be merits to starting combat on even ground though.

Still smirking, Nik turns to face the rest of the team and talks in between teeth while still smiling cheerily.
: "This will hurt."

Aidan lifted his club, looking at Bowser and checking the others if they were ready.

"Alright, let's do th-"

: "...You. You all. You all KILLED ME! YOU KILLED ME!! LET MY HATRED BURN YOUR SIN AWAY!!"

The voice echoed across the plains as if it came from a larger source. Instinctively, Aidan turned to see who caused it.

It was Kaina.

He felt paralyzed from the sight of the girl he once knew -- and even helped up, now standing meters away facing the others. He could recall her face at the time, when they were all new to this world.

It was only yesterday.

"May the light watch your path, Kaina." he mumbled to himself, before turning back to the slasher.

"Let's finish this."
