Seeing his ally burst into tears, REGIS was a little distraught and confused. He remembered how when he got his ability all sorts of memories and expectations flowed through him, but he remembered it being a pleasant experience. Queen's condition was a mystery. The golem tried to calm her the best that he could, his voice thick with concern.

"OI! QUEENS! WHAT'SUN THE PROBLEMS? ARE YOUSE HURT? WHATS DID YOUSE SEE?"

Also, REGIS selected the Friendly Fire upgrade. If we didn't have enough tones, that's fine. I didn't do the math. If it was just an oversight, no worries either. Just act like he selected it in this update before trying to console Queen.

"...aw damn," Bowser mumbled, as the comforting vision vanished. For a few brief seconds, he was home. Surrounded by the strong walls, tended to by his servants, with the relaxing aroma of molten lava. Bowser felt a genuine pang of homesickness. But only for a moment. He had his reputation to consider, he couldn't be getting all emotional in front of the others. Shaking off his blues, he decided to test out his Pyrebreath. He inhaled sharply, and exhaled into the sky, and a blazing plume of fire rose into the air.

"Heh heh heh... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It's BACK!" Bowser laughed, spitting small flames. "Them black things are gonna fry!"

Still chuckling menacingly to himself, Bowser turned his attention back to the group. Like homesickness, Bowser just allowed himself but a moment of the typical villain maniacal laughter. After all, best to keep it short, he read somewhere one can miss vital developments while indulging, despite its stress relieving effects. And the halfling was right anyway, time to plot their next move.

"Right then. We can do that sweep of the island now. Though securing a base of operations may be a moot point since those things can seemingly spawn a bridge wherever they want. But we can still beat up on those black things, and get some more items and tones. Plus I want to try out this fire on an enemy." Bowser said. He paused, then got the odd gizmo out of his inventory. "Oh, and there was something else. I found this gizmo thingie after that shogun's cheap shot. Something about a crane. Wonder what it does." Bowser didn't hesitate, but pushed the big button on the gizmo to see if anything happened.

Sadie seemed to absorb the newfound knowledge with something like melancholy. Her heightening skills were mirrored by her increasing maturity.

"...I suppose some loss of innocence was inevitable. She who increaseth Knowledge, increaseth Sorrow." She mused to herself, sighing.

She had almost gotten used to it-the wonder of discovery, the joy of Science-like she had enjoyed with she was a young girl. The years later had made her jaded, as it does to we all. But Sadie had taken something good from her experience...maybe it wasn't too late for her to be young again...

She picked up a Spirer Fruit from the box, taking it in new detail. It all made so much more sense now. That was good-they needed to understand this world. But it wasn't quite magic anymore, was it? No, the wonder was almost gone...

Then again, everything has a way of balancing out. What was lost, could be found-and where something withered, a new thing often sprouted in it's place. Something Special-better than before. If her heart was fertile enough ground to let it grow, and she tended it carefully.

She tapped Queen on the shoulder not long after. Sadie felt a sort of connection-they had both just been reminded where they came from.

"...hmm, I believe I must ask to borrow your Terenome root for a bit-I believe I can make some examinations now.

...and if you want to talk, I will listen. I do not like to see my friends so bereaved. Was it your vision?"

Sadie remembered her vision quite vividly.

Action: Do an examination of the Spirer Fruit, and then the Terenome Root Queen has, if she'll let me.

Upon watching Queen's troubling moment and REGIS moving to the rescue after she had already recomposed herself, Nikolai followed the mechanical golem, although less enthusiastically, arms crossed behind his head.

Queen looked uncomfortable with all these people looking out for her. That was her job.

: "But... I have seen a terrible truth to this world. It seems this place... was designed for our abilities to grow." She shifted about on the spot, focusing on her speech. "And power can be a double sided coin. Tiny flame turns to desolation. Curing turns to disease. I encourage you all to look out for each other very closely. And, most importantly, watch yourselves."

"Ooo, dark, didn't expect that from a healer... Though it is true, power corrupts the wielder, the more you have the more you want... But we were stripped of our power, and I at least, am simply trying to retrieve what is rightfully mine..." Cora remembers once more her beautiful home. *sigh* "Well, let's not dwell too long on that for now, let's just get up and go somewhere. Explore new lands, see new wonderful sights... make new friends... *mumble*_{^{Because all my old ones are probably dead...}}*mumble*" Cora climbs the nearest tree, looking for more fruit and a limb suitable for making a harp.

Turn 23, Day 1, ???




Everyone's eyelids seemed to get even heavier, even those without proper eyes or eyelids.

Cora leapt into a tree while munching one of the fruits, but none of the fruits or suitable branches were around. What a shame. Before she leapt though, Sadie got a good look on the Spirer Fruit.



It seems that the fruit alone could make a result if Sadie got to tinker with it!

REGIS walks up to Ding and orders another ability for 15 Tones:



The bell starts ringing 15 tolls as REGIS' mind dissolves. It becomes the land around it, seeing the protective shell of everything. It sees the bark, the skin, the metal and the air, all the things rubbing against each other, blocking the momentum of combat. It sees the potential to cure, grow and increase everything around it, and at last, the ways to make the ultimate guard. But as its mind starts to calculate and take notes, the vision dissolves, leaving it wanting more of this, unlimited potential.

Nikolai hits a snag in his plan about crossing the bridge: It leads nowhere. It simply is supported by NOTHING! What the HECK?!

After pushing the button, something magickal seemed to happen as the Crane Controls in Bowser's hand lit up!



Oh great, another Uniq lifts from the Crane Controls.

: "WOO! I AM ALIVE AGAIN HAIL THE GREAT DATABLOCKS IN THE SKY FOR MY RECREATION! DAMN, IT FEELS GOOD TO EXIST!! HOO-HAH!"

: "Now now, calm down Lift and explain to the heroes what your function is again, okay?"

: "RIGHT ON! I CAN MOVE STU-"

: "CALM DOWN!!!"

: "RIGHT-er I mean, right. I can summon a crane that can go anywhere, which can be used to move heavy stuff around and even change out the crane head for a giant shovel, to dig with. I can also devour dirt and stone with the shovel and through that construct walls by spitting it back out. I could in essence build houses for you. It comes at a prize though!"

: "There, much better. Thank you lift!"

Finally, Queen spends 15 tones to increase Fortitude and Spirit. Unlike before, the bell tolled only once for each of the powerups, but as soon as both was bought, a powerful reaction happened inside of her as the stat screens changed.

Climbing around the limbs like a crazy little monkey, Cora counted her tones in despair from lack of findings.

"Well, howdy hey! Must have miscounted when there was such a large pile to distract me..." Cora returns to The Bell, purchasing the Tune of Temper "Wily one aren't you Lift? Though I guess you do seem like the sort of character who isn't introduced into a story until later... so not many people have made it this far... Well, there's an uplifting thought, were doing better than most have. So, what sort of price is there to the maneuvering of materials? Tones? Life Essence? Mana? Could I pay in song?"

Nikolai watches as Cora shows her intent of using up almost all the remaining tones.
: "How much?" he bluntly asks Lift while leaning against a tree.

The large metal figure's individual body parts placed themselves on the ground and compacted themselves into one large shell. His face closed up completely, and sank down into his core section.

REGIS succumbs to the feeling of tiredness.
