Turn 20(5), Day 1, Flood

Aidan and Bowser rush towards the battlefield!

At the Conquest...

Queen and REGIS both heal REGIS and Seuche respectively for 4 and 2 points of HP!

With a final act of revenge, Nikolai, Seuche and Cora deal a finishing blow to the powerful giant. 11 Collective Damage.

: "GRRRGAAGHHRR!!! GHGHRAGRHHRGRRH!!!"

The Shogun starts dissolving into a powerful mist.

Suddenly, for a fleeting moment, Queen and REGIS were in complete synch with each other. They realized that their skills can work together in new ways, and a Combo Move was learned!

The Shogun leaves behind a gruesome looking heart... Has it's body turned into a pedestal?

I can hear music. One wonders-herald the Angels trumpets? Or the Drums of Hell?

Evolution is a function of consciousness. The conscious being, evolves to better himself and his environment. Correction, he betters himself-at the cost to his environment. Then the being dies, or changes his environment to suit him-but the basic equation does not change, cannot change, will not change. Eventually, the most ordered system collapses under the weight of progress. Is all this life a race to self destruction-to oblivion? It's a depressing thought.

I hope he can forgive me for this. I wanted to hear him play the flute. Now he will never know how much I...and maybe that's for the best. I hope he doesn't take it too hard.

So, Death is just a transfer of energy from one state to another, she says. My sister, the know it all...I still love her. Is Love a form of energy? If so, what will mine become once I die? I guess I'll never know.

It's cold. I am very afraid right now. I can feel my heart slowing. I wish someone would hold my hand.

End of line.

After the battle, Nikolai stared both at the fallen fishwoman and what had the Shogun Slasher had "dropped". Sighing deeply, he decided to move on to check on Sadie...And yeah, she was bleeding and dying, nothing new to look at here.
: "Yeah, I think we need medical assistance now." "before the elf starts crying and acting like a desperate widow" he almost said.

Nik waits until Sadie is healed to check on the loot from the Shogun.

It's cold. I am very afraid right now. I can feel my heart slowing. I wish someone would hold my hand.

End of line.

: "Poor girl."

Queen ignored the downed Shogun and walked straight over to Sadie, kneeling down to her level and taking her pulse. Slowing. Alive, though. Thank you, gods.

: "Done very well, Sadie." Queen rubbed her hands together, trying to get an idea of how much Magick she had remaining. "Why don't you close your eyes? Hear a story I have for you."

This was the best part of Queen's job. Back in Hyrule, many would sit by their loved ones' sides as they died, knowing there was nothing they could do. They knew only a select few could save lives, and those were too busy with the war.

Queen looked up at Aidan approaching. He looked ready to pick her up and take her away.

: "Still weak. Let me handle it." Queen looked down towards Sadie. Was she bleeding? Somewhat. The damage was more internal. Health in this world worked not in the same ways. She grabbed the Mer-girl's hand and spoke to her softly. "Once upon a time, there was a great and mighty king in his great and mighty throne."

Ah. Magick remaining. Excellent.

: "The great and mighty king was tempted by an evil, nasty god." Green lights. Queen's healing magick was already beginning to flow through to Sadie. "Though the king was great and mighty, he asked, 'Make me mightier?' And so the dark god did, and the king was great no more."

Not too much longer. Breathe, Sadie. Hang in there.

: "People panicked, kingdom shattered, world torn apart. The great-no-longer mighty king far more mighty than was great." Queen looked back at Aidan. "But in all this, one still trusted: warm and loving Queen. One night she approached him and she slung her arms around him. He shooed his Queen, he growled at her, but Queen would not let go. She told him: 'There's no failing in once-a-while backing down."

Queen attempted to transfer the rest of her magick into healing Sadie. Can she hear me? I do not know.

: "The great and mighty King Hyrule loved one thing more than strength. He loved his queen and so lied down and let his power go." Queen put her head on Sadie's heart. "Remember, Sadie, Aidan: love itself is more important than proving it. If you really care, each other will know it. No need to sacrifice yourselves."

Queen stood up and watched Sadie. Please get up. After healing her, she went over and grabbed the Shogun's heart.

Bowser barreled for the combat, but before he could get there, he saw the shogun tear into pieces from the brunt of one last attack from the group. He was annoyed the battle was finished before he could return, but glad the others were okay. Mostly anyway. Sadie was down, but Queen was tending to her. Good, she was a healer, she'd be able to revive her if anyone could. She had enough people hovering around her anyway while she worked. Bowser just went to the remains of the Shogun Slasher, and looked for anything useful.

"Peh, bloody sob story. Now let's see if this was at all worth it!" Cora bounds over to the remains of the first boss, looking excitedly at the 'heart'.

"A relic perhaps? Maybe an artifact of great power? With a pedestle made of it's previous owner, it must be something good!"

As soon as the Shogun fell to pieces, REGIS fell silent. He wanted to tend to his fallen ally, but Queen was already attending to the issue. Three different issues plagued the construct's mind, though. First, what was this new affinity he felt for his fellow healer? It was as if they were more familiar now. More trusting of each other. It was oddly comforting to have this new bond. REGIS wanted to speak with Queen about it, but she was busy healing Sadie. REGIS would have done this himself, but Queen was quicker. Probably for the best, since REGIS's method of healing was much less personal.

The second problem was the matter of the large army of troops that just watched their commander fall. They were certainly honorbound as part of their being now, but would they hold true to their commander's word?

The final issue that troubled the golem was the remains of the commander. This felt odd. That sword could be useful as well, but for now it seemed to be too large for anyone in the group to use, especially since it seemed like the scabbard was just as much of a weapon as the "blade" of the sword.

REGIS analyzed the dropped weapon.

Aidan knelt beside Queen as she completed her story. What was a sacrifice if it couldn't be acted upon? He was late, along with the King, and...perhaps it was because of his height.

His first ever friend in this realm lay dying at his hands, and he knew no knowledge about the healing arts other than the person right next to him. Both of them knew something that could be contributed to the party at large, science and practical knowledge.

All he knew, was song.

Suppressing the guilt and pain in his chest, he looked at Queen with desperation drawn on his face.

"Do something!"

Aid in healing her! Then glance at the bridge to inspect the remains of the...followers of the Shogun.

"Do something!"

"YOUSE NEEDS TO LEAVEUNS DA HEALUNS TO DA PROFESSIONALS AND STOP BEINGS DISTRACTUNS."

REGIS picked up the short elf by the back of his neck and dragged him away from Queen's work so he wouldn't interfere with the healing.

Event!

Despite fuelling the rest of the magick into Sadie, she awakens with 1 Health Part left. She slowly gets up, as Aidan's eyes light up again. REGIS is still holding him still.

At the other end of the situation, Bowser and Cora are looking into the delightful pile of items in front of them.

...The sight behind the pile is a little gruelling, since its the 100 samurai slashers dying in horrible agony. It seemed that the Shogun was what kept those going, or they had some kind of internal honor based self destruct... One can never know.

Nevertheless, Cora was quick with her fingers on this one:

YOU GOT A HORROR HEART!

: "Hishi! Hishishishi! HIIISHIIISHIII-OH WHO AM I KIDDING!!"

: "You all killed my minions!! I HATE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH!! And yet, it is not time for this poet to even try and best you, as I do not have the power to do so! Enjoy your victory, you damn creatures! YOU SPITEFUL CRETINS!! I WILL MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALL ROT IN YOUR EQUIVALENT OF HELL SOON ENOUGH!!"

And just as fast as the Reaper had resurfaced, it disappeared back into the shadows it came from.

Turn 21, Day 1, Flood Completed!

Everyone felt the emptiness inside grow larger.

They are all a little dumbfounded at their current situation, but it all got better when the pedestal destroyed itself and dropped a whole piñata worth of delicious loot!

The foe dropped 110 Tones and it's mighty sword, the Eastern Breeze!

: "Hey, merwoman. Get up or your lover will get even more hysteric than he is already. My 'no bushes for you' policy still stands still, though."
After making sure Sadie was fine, checking the loot and smirking at Aidan being restrained by REGIS, Nikolai stretched lazily a bit before moving on to the cube.

Nik gets as much tones he can, goes to the Cube, deposits them, eats one fruit and drinks one plum juice before moving on with the group and beyond the bridge.

'Now THAT's a sword.'

Seuche attempts to heft the Eastern Breeze. If she can't, she'll ask the various cuboids if it's possible to make a version of it she can somehow.

Aidan stopped struggling as he saw Queen help up Sadie with her healing touch -- he was partly grateful that REGIS stopped him from trying...to help, in a sense.

He was also grateful confused by the look Nik gave him as he relaxed after the battle. Why would he be gifting Sadie with fully grown bushes?

"One hundred and ten whole tones... One for each soldier and ten for the Shogun."

A strange feeling came over him, did Nik know why he was acting such with Sadie? Perhaps...

"Ding! Is it now possible for me to take Landscaping and Truesight? And does everyone plan to cross this bridge?

"Uniq, are there any knives around I could use to try to fashion something out of these sticks around here?"

Queen was relatively uninterested in the tones and such. She had all the skills she needed for the time being. Though... Light Barrier was highly tempting. Queen decided to take her Terranome Root and many of the tones as she could and put them in the cube. Afterwards, she retrieved a Spirer fruit from it an ate it.

: "Had my fun. Do as you please with these."
