Turning to the Bell, "Could I request to learn Truesight, then?"

While waiting for Sadie's reply, Aidan noticed the faint call of music after the bridge dropped. It was remarkable - exotic, but distinctly familiar. He couldn't recall anything of the sort being played, but recognized the impeccable tune of the flute among stringed instruments and other tools of the wind.

He listened on. As the tones dropped, and the skills became scarce in choosing (along with the nifty correction by the bell-thing, what was it's name again?), he decided to test something out.

"Sure, Queen. I'd be happy to follow you. But first-...Sadie, would you like to explore with me?

. . .

"Reggie! Punch ME!"

Follow Queen To the bridge! But get PwnPunched by Reggie first, if he accepts!

"Well, that's just ominous..." Cora listened to the sounds pouring over the bridge, listening to the story it tells, trying to understand it's meaning.

"We should probably finish off this island before going onto the next one... Don't want anything sneaking up behind us while we probably fight some epic upon this bridge. Cora abruptly turns away from the bridge and wonders off in the opposite direction.

One, Three, Six...

Huh, who's that?

As Aidan stood up from his position, he spotted a creature about ~3 feet in height among the rest of his companions. He wondered why he didn't notice her before.

Or her voice, for that matter.

"Hey, err...you! Don't go off alone! Pretty dangerous if you do that!"

Queen noticed the small Human walking away. She hadn't seen this girl before. Who was she?

: "Ah, wait, don't go! Dangerous! REGIS, you and others split up, maybe. I will stay, protect the small girl."

Queen turned around and tried to catch up with Cora.

: "Oh, yes. This is Cora, a halfling bard. She came from a chest called Grim Chest, which is controlled by other Uniq. It seems she has already been submitted to this trial more than once...And her small size comes from her race."

"Oh, more introductions, yes, somehow I forgot there would be the optimum eight here... I am Cora Tealeaf, halfling bard at your service. To be blunt, I was more expecting others to follow than to suede me from going... Now let's see..." Cora scans over the other 4 persons.

"Four-arms... Blondie... Gills... and-" Cora shivers "An elf... of all the possible races out there, there just had to be elves in both of my chances of redemption at life... why are there always elves! WHY?!"

"Your existence isn't the problem, you are perfectly fine to exist. It's just that every elf that I've met, except for you, but I've just seen you, has done something that's just completely- and I can't believe my bardic knowledge is failing me here, I can't figure the right word to express this notion... repulsive, let's go with that, I've seen first hand things that shouldn't been seen and they were done at the hands of elves, I dare not rattle off a list for I don't think I could bear to dwell upon the thoughts.

Aidan let out a short whistle at the statement.

"Well...I won't doubt you word but...you're a bard?

"That makes two of us."
Changing the topic seemed like a good idea, for he had none on what Cora was talking about. Nothing of her kind ever existed in his world...or did they?

He should've paid more attention to dream and mystical lore...

: "Good meeting you, Cora! I am Queen. Or, at least, is what you can call me. I am willing to follow if you are more familiar with here than I."

Queen bent down near Cora and tilted her head.

: "I do not know 'Halflings', but most in my world are... small compared to those here."

Sadie, as a rule, tended to like Halflings...they were usually fun to hang with, not taking life seriously-and oddly, they never seemed concerned about her size like Humans were. To them, she was just another 'Tall Folk'

She reminded herself not to fall into stereotypical thoughts about the new one...she was a Bard too?

Oh dear.

"Oh, more introductions, yes, somehow I forgot there would be the optimum eight here... I am Cora Tealeaf, halfling bard at your service. To be blunt, I was more expecting others to follow than to suede me from going... Now let's see..." Cora scans over the other 4 persons.

She tried not to 'tower' over the Halfling-her full height being 8 feet-instead crouching down by her, still being double her height.

"Hello, Cora! I am Sadie Coldshoal. I am very tall, as you can see, and you are very short. Let's not have that come between us being friends.

...um, I don't suppose you have Merpeople in your world?

I know Halflings from my world, anyway. Please do not be intimidated by my height! I am very gentle. With friends."
she added hastily, unconsciously rubbing her bruised knuckles from monster fighting.

"Sure, Queen. I'd be happy to follow you. But first-...Sadie, would you like to explore with me?

Sadie perked up at the idea.

"That does sound wonderful. We are still hurt, or at least I will be after you are heal punched though, so I suggest we stick together..." Sadie grinned, and hugged Aidan to her side, since she often spoke quite literally.

She considered his previous questions, pursing her lips.

"Sadie, do you think these titles mean anything? I don't...look like a fossil, do I?"
"Also...Um...oh...hmm...Aidan, would you be depressed if I told you found your skeletal remains in the future? I mean, I was...will be very respectful to them...but I suppose it couldn't be you anyway.

I mean, he had a flute, and wings that might have been a fossilized cloak...you didn't get hurt by an arrow, did you?"

...

And after that awkward conversation, she turned and spoke to the cube.

"Yahoo? Ding? How do we power our um, stats? That is the correct term, yes?

I could stand to be a little less fragile..."

Action: Ask the Bell of Heroes how to upgrade out Stats (HP, Aggression, Mana etc)

Then, to the East Side of the Island with Aidan!

"Ahh, more royalty? Why don't we all just stake some claim so we can have a royal battle royal..."

"I wouldn't say the Merfolk are common, but you could find them if you looked hard enough, none that I can think of were shape-shifters though... nor are they, quite so elongated... but height isn't an intimidating factor, when you've had idle chatter with a 13 foot hill-troll you get the feeling like you could take on anything."

"Right, so you want to finish off this island? Not a bad idea. Once we clean out those annoying critters, it would make a good base of operations. So far, this bridge is the only way too or from this island. Worse case scenario, it'd make a good bottleneck if something attacks." Bowser said, looking over the bridge, and trying to see the source of the music. He shrugged after a moment, and just glanced over the island.

"Listen up, troops!" Bowser said, getting back into the commander's role. "We can't just run around like a stomped goomba. We need to do a proper sweep of this island, and flush those little black things out of hiding. I need three teams. Two of three and one of two, and we'll need a heavy hitter in each team. Oh, and REGIS, get with the healing punches. I want everyone in peak condition."

"Nikolai, Captain, Queen, you're team one. Head along the west side of the island. If that black thing attacks, stomp 'em. But don't be too aggressive. It'd be best to keep herding them south. REGIS, Sadie, Aidan, you're team two. You go along the east side of the island. Same orders, and REGIS, give Aidan your hammer. You're strong enough to not need it, and pointy ears needs something to help him pack more of a punch. Cora, you and I are team three. We'll go down the middle of the island. Everyone, keep an eye out for any of the monsters trying to slip between our groups. Once we herd the black things to the south end, we all attack at once and trap them in a three pronged attack. Once the island is secure, we can all go together and see what that music is. Any objections?"

Already sitting with his back against a nearby tree, Nikolai made a "meh" face.
: "Nah, Bowser. I think these critters will keep hiding and running, and I have no doubt they are sneaky and agile enough to avoid us entirely if they feel like it. It is as if there is something bigger behind them, a commanding voice ordering them to avoid trouble unless they have a good shot at winning. If we have to stay in this island, I vote we stay together or split in two teams maximum and search for the larger critter I saw." he smiled and tossed the hammer to Aidan "And here is the hammer." he completed.
